As there seems to be a bit of confusion for some based off my breakdown of how I judge driving skill.
The picture is my interpretation of how I judge smoke scores.
Just wanted to clear up a few things.
In my opinion, burnouts should be:
50% smoke
50% driving skill
Deductions or DNFs for stopping/static, wall hits/off pad, reversing and failing to drive off.
Not getting tyres off, is a deduction.
Grey areas that need definition:
Going over the start or finish line equals a wall hits and burnouts finished.
Tyres fires should be allowed to be pedalled out. (But hurt consistent smoke scores)
Belts and helmet need to be on both driver and passenger while the car is moving or DNF.
Having said that promoters have differing opinions on everything I have mentioned about, so when I do a show. I do the job I'm paid to do, based on what the promoters wants criteria and definition wise.
