This might be an unpopular opinion, but when I see a car on the start line I expect to see it roll over the finish line without tyres. So why are we rewarding people for popping tyres?

In my opinion it's a deduction only.

But I would hazard a guess that about half the shows I do have points for tyres popped, not a deduction.

What's your thoughts?

As there seems to be a bit of confusion for some based off my breakdown of how I judge driving skill.

The picture is my interpretation of how I judge smoke scores.

Just wanted to clear up a few things.
In my opinion, burnouts should be:
50% smoke
50% driving skill
Deductions or DNFs for stopping/static, wall hits/off pad, reversing and failing to drive off.

Not getting tyres off, is a deduction.

Grey areas that need definition:
Going over the start or finish line equals a wall hits and burnouts finished.
Tyres fires should be allowed to be pedalled out. (But hurt consistent smoke scores)
Belts and helmet need to be on both driver and passenger while the car is moving or DNF.

Having said that promoters have differing opinions on everything I have mentioned about, so when I do a show. I do the job I'm paid to do, based on what the promoters wants criteria and definition wise.

After some discussions with competitors, I was suprised to hear that some of you aren't exactly sure what judges are allocating points to when it comes to the Driver skill points.

So I thought I would give you a little breakdown of what im looking for as a judge and what makes up your score.

I'll also try and put together some videos in the coming weeks to break down each category and show examples of good and bad etc.

What's y'all thought on how drivers skill is judge?

I love me some limiter bashing, especially when it's .mac.7 behind the wheel.

But broadly speaking, to many guys and girls be smashing limiter and end up looking like Adam Sandler.

If you're a competitor that just loves to pin it and whatever happens happens, awesome... do you!

But you can't get all sad panda if that doesn't score well, consistently.

Shout out to the original content creator. Love it 👌
