If you’re tackling a coupling like this one and it’s been sitting out in good old Australian dust, do yourself a favour and hit it with an air gun, blower, or compressor first.

Your goal is to get as much dust and rubbish out of the coupling and locking mechanism as possible before you put any kind of liquid on it.
Once you introduce liquid, all that fine dust turns into grinding paste.

A couple of minutes with an air gun can save you a whole lot of headaches later.

Don’t do things by halves.
This ½ inch air coupling had a plug in it, but not the cover - so it only did half the job.

Without the cover, dirt and grit still find their way into the mechanism and sooner or later it’ll bind up and cause problems.

👉 Whack a Blueboy kit on it to save the headache and save yourself replacing parts you shouldn't have to.
