Rustproofing is one of those topics that always sparks debate in the 4WD world. After plenty of years working on touring vehicles and beach-driven 4WDs, we’ve seen both good and bad outcomes from different rustproofing systems. The biggest issues we tend to see come from heavy coating applications being sprayed over important electrical earth points and chassis connections. Over time, heat and corrosion can create resistance problems that may affect vehicle electrical systems. For vehicles spending constant time on the beach, some electronic rust prevention systems may be worth researching - but it’s important to avoid gimmicks and choose products backed by actual testing. For most people though, regular washing and proper maintenance after beach driving is still one of the best forms of prevention. Simple maintenance done consistently usually wins every time.

Workshop Wednesday 👨‍🔧 Bit of everything happening in the shop today. The F-150 on the hoist is a regular service customer of ours. We’ve previously fitted suspension, wheels and tyres and after a recent shock service and wheel alignment, we found the factory upper control arms weren’t ideal - so it’s now getting a set of BDS upper arms fitted and another alignment afterwards. Alongside that:
• 200 Series LandCruiser getting upper arms, diff drop, coilover adjustment and rear Panhard bar
• Ranger Raptor in for tyres, bullbar and lights
• F-250 out the front getting steering vibration sorted with new wheels and tyres
Busy day, but plenty getting knocked over 👌 This is the sort of work we do every day -suspension setups, servicing, alignments and full touring builds.

Correct suspension geometry, alignment adjustment, component strength and long-term reliability all play a major role in how a vehicle performs both on-road and off-road. You guys might recognise this F-150 👀 We originally built this truck a couple of years ago and now it’s back in the workshop for maintenance and servicing - because we don’t just build these trucks, we look after them long term too. This setup includes:
✔️ 2.5 lift kit
✔️ upper control arms
✔️ 305 wheels
✔️ Grappler 34s
✔️ Rear airbags for towing
✔️ Colour coded flares
This is the perfect all-round setup. Comfortable to daily drive, capable on weekends and practical for towing without going overboard. We also keep a close eye on performance shock servicing intervals to make sure these trucks continue driving exactly how they should 👌

This F-150 might look familiar - we originally built this truck a couple of years ago and now it’s back in the workshop for servicing and maintenance. One of the big advantages of building and maintaining these vehicles ourselves is that we understand every modification on the car and can properly keep track of service intervals and component wear over time.

This brand-new 300 Series came straight from Toyota to us for a complete build. We’ve carried out every modification you can see on the vehicle, including:
• King Shock lift kit
• Superior Engineering suspension components
• Method 305 NV wheels in bronze
• Mickey Thompson 33” tyres
• Clearview drop side steps
• Ironman bullbar
• Full blackout package and chrome delete
• Window tint
The King and Superior Engineering setup works incredibly well on these vehicles, improving ride comfort over sharp bumps while reducing the factory body roll. Best part? The suspension is fully serviceable and rebuildable, making it a long-term investment for the vehicle. We’re stoked with how this one turned out.

This 300 Series LandCruiser came together beautifully. A clean, functional touring setup that still keeps a refined OEM-style look while massively improving capability and stance.
This build features:
• Ironman bullbar
• Method wheels in bronze
• Aggressive all-terrain tyre package
• Suspension upgrades
• Blackout styling details
The bronze wheel choice works perfectly against the grey paintwork and gives the car a really clean but aggressive finish without overdoing it. One of those builds that looks just as good in the workshop as it would out on a long touring trip.
