❄️ Another happy customer and another ice-cold A/C! 🚗
This job was a little more special than most.
My customer travels from Charters Towers to Townsville every day for work—around 45 minutes each way—and with kids to look after, being without a car wasn’t really an option.
She had only owned this Kia Seltos for a week. The A/C had been regassed before the vehicle was sold, but unfortunately it stopped working shortly afterwards.
After carrying out a full diagnosis, I found the actual problem was a faulty evaporator temperature sensor. I organised the repair around her work schedule, completed everything while she was at work, and made sure the car was ready before she finished for the day so she could head back home to Charters Towers without any delays.
Seeing the smile on her face when she felt the ice-cold A/C made the day worth it. 😊

❄️ Intermittent A/C Fault Fixed – Nissan X-Trail ❄️

This Nissan X-Trail came to me after the air conditioning had been regassed elsewhere, but the intermittent cooling issue was still present.

After carrying out a proper diagnosis, I found the real cause of the problem:

🔍 Faults Found
✅ TX (Expansion) Valve malfunctioning
✅ Leaking O-ring at the low-pressure pipe connection
✅ Refrigerant leak causing loss of system performance

🔧 Repairs Performed
• Replaced TX Valve
• Replaced leaking O-rings
• Removed engine mount to gain access for repairs
• Vacuum tested system
• Recharged A/C system to manufacturer specifications
• Performed final performance testing

Cold air restored and the system is now operating correctly. 💨❄️

The customer was very happy with the diagnosis, repair quality, pricing, and detailed explanation of the fault. He’s already planning to book in his second vehicle for mechanical diagnosis and repairs.

❄️ Toyota Corolla Evaporator Replacement Completed ❄️

Not every A/C fault is a simple regas.

This Toyota Corolla came in with poor cooling performance and refrigerant loss. A full system diagnosis was carried out, including a hydrogen leak test, which confirmed a leaking evaporator hidden deep inside the dashboard.

🔍 Hydrogen leak test performed
🔍 Evaporator leak confirmed

✅ Evaporator replaced
✅ New O-rings and seals installed
✅ System vacuum tested
✅ Refrigerant oil balanced correctly
✅ Recharged to manufacturer specifications
✅ Vehicle scanned and checked

Evaporator replacements are one of the more labour-intensive A/C repairs, requiring dashboard disassembly and careful attention to detail. Taking the time to diagnose the fault correctly before replacing parts ensures the repair is completed properly and reliably.

This Subaru Forester came to us with poor cooling performance.

After carrying out a full inspection, we found the issue wasn’t a major component failure — it was leaking TX valve O-rings allowing refrigerant to escape.

❄️ Customer Complaint: Air conditioning not getting cold.

During diagnosis, a pressure switch fault code was stored in the system. The customer had already replaced the pressure switch, however further testing revealed the switch was not the cause of the problem.

✅ Full A/C system diagnosis carried out
✅ Refrigerant charge checked
✅ Fault traced to low refrigerant level in the system
✅ System recharged to specification
✅ Fault code cleared
✅ A/C performance restored

This is why proper diagnosis is important before replacing parts. A fault code may point you in a direction, but it doesn’t always mean that component has failed.
