It was a 50/50 split this weekend with a lot of driving!! I was headed to Peterborough Speedway with the Bandolero and Keegan Moat, Lori Moat, and Rick Pride, while my dad and Darren Tyo were headed to Sauble Speedway with Morgan and the Jr with the help of Darren Warren in my absence. We were about half an hour away from Peterborough when we got the call that the night had been canceled due to rain. We turned the truck around and headed for the beach!!
A few hours later we showed up just in time for Morgan to start practice. Darren was on the radio with her for the first practice and gave us some amazing feedback on the car. We started to make some adjustments before the heat races and away she went. She finished 4th and 5th in both of her heat races and ran really well. A couple of minor adjustments again before the feature and she was ready to roll. 25 laps of action packed racing landed her a top 5 finish after the leaders got collected on the final lap. All in all it was a great day and I am super proud of Morgan for her ability to adapt to these new challenges that she is facing this year!!

Racers supporting racers. That’s what grassroots racing is all about.

One of the best parts of the 2026 season at Sauble Speedway has been watching competitors and race teams step up to invest back into the sport they love. That tradition continues this Saturday with the debut of the Homeland Auto Service Hard Charger Award for the Russell Fencing Junior Late Models.

Thanks to Shenanigans Motorsports and team owner Sam Moore, the Junior Late Model driver who passes the most cars on each race night will head home with an extra $50 cash bonus for the rest of the 2026 season.

Sam has spent years supporting short track racing across Ontario, helping racers in countless divisions. Whether it’s behind the wheel, behind the scenes, or by putting money back into the pits, he always seems to find another way to make our sport stronger.

Awards like this reward determination, encourage drivers to race hard from green to checkered, and give fans one more battle to watch every Saturday night.

Sam, thank you for believing in grassroots racing and for giving back to the next generation of racers. People like you are the backbone of short track racing, and Sauble Speedway is incredibly grateful for your support.

Humbling to know that someone as big as GSR-Glenn Styres Racing appreciates the small contributions a team like ours donates to the sport that we all love. Thank you Glen for everything that you do for our sport! Morgan is super happy that it went to you!!!

At the beginning of this season we were unsure of what are plans with Morgan were going to be. With the closing of Sunset Speedway the only options we had were to travel. We did register at Peterborough Speedway and thought that we may run there and do a few specials at Sauble Speedway . Even though Morgan has never ran Sauble, it ended up being her first race of the year due to an earlier rain out at Peterborough. Finishing 5th in that first race was a huge confidence boost for her. Leading into this weekend I left the decision up to her as far as where it was that she wanted to run. She made the call and this weekend we headed back to the beach for race number 2!! We are now officially a member of the beach club. We were welcomed with open arms from track officials to fellow competitors and families that we have grown to love and respect over the last 5 years.

We had an incredible day yesterday in the Jr. 13 cars in the field and Morgan drove her heart out. She started the day by finishing 3rd in heat 1 and 4th in heat 2. She learned more and more about the track with every lap she ran. She was faster every time she hit the track and ended the night less than half a second slower than the leaders.

In the feature she started 7th and was patient for the entirety of the longest feature she has ever ran (25 laps). She was smooth and consistent. She had an epic battle with one of her friends, Landon Struyk, and ended up passing him for 4th with a few laps to go finishing 4th for the night!! But for me that wasn’t the best part. For me the best part was all of the offerings that were sent my way from some of the best people I know. These people knew that we may have some conflicts with running at the beach when the Bando is somewhere else. We had offers of people willing to put their kid in our car, we had offers to have their kid run our number for us, we had offers for accommodations at their homes if we need it, we had offers that people would take Morgan to the track for us and crew her car for us if I couldn’t be there. For me, all of that generosity was by far the best part of my weekend!! Except for Father’s Day. I got to spend it with my kid, with my dad, and with all of the amazing father’s that were in the pits. That is by far the absolute best part!!

Happy Father’s Day to all of the amazing dads out there!! And I am so glad to call a lot of you my friends!!

It is finally race week at Shenanigan’s Motorsports!!! The long off season has come to an end. The cars are ready, we had a great test session a few weeks ago and both cars looked very sporty!!! We will be heading to Peterborough Speedway this Saturday for the first run in the Jr for the year. We are registered there for the season and we hope to make as many races as possible there. Then in two weeks both cars will be at Sauble Speedway. This will be Morgan’s first time there and Keegan will be looking for some redemption after his first visit there last year!!

I want to thank my crew for all of their help this winter. The trips to Hanover, Owensound, London and everywhere else I have asked them to go to help get us as prepared as we possibly can be, doesn’t go anywhere unnoticed!! You all mean the world to Morgan,Keegan and I. Dad (Augh), Tim, Darren, Mom (Granny), Randy, Ireland, George, Lori-Ann, Jordan, Hailey, and of course my amazing wife Laurel (Mommy). All of you are what makes this team so special!!
Year 5 (and maybe the last year) for Morgan and we are hoping for the best one yet. To all of our amazing partners that have supported us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything that you have done, and continue to do for us. Let’s have a blast this season!!

Well with Easter weekend now in the rearview it only means one thing, Just over a month until the 2026 Racing season kicks off!!

I have not posted a lot this offseason, and not because we haven’t been working, but mainly because like most, this has been a very long winter!!so what better way to kick it to the curb than talk about our plans for the year!

We will start off with Morgan. Although we have the potential to possibly run her final year in the Jr late full time at Peterborough Speedway, we are not sure that will happen yet. She will definitely be there a few times for sure including the first race of the year for the Jr’s, and the last race at Colours. We will then make a decision how many other times she will run there. She will also make her debut at Sauble Beach Speedway, where she will be there for at least 3 weekends!! All 3 weekends that we plan to run there, the Bandolero is on the same schedule! Double headers for both cars lol!
So as it stands for her right now, we have a schedule of 6-15 races plus we plan on putting her in the Bando for some test sessions to see if this is what she want to do next. The goal for her this year is to hopefully snag a feature win but most importantly to have fun and enjoy the ride!!
Keegan Moat will be once again be running the #11 Shenanigan’s Motorsports Bandolero full time in the Ontario Bandoleros. We have a 10 race schedule between Peterborough, Sauble and Full Throttle . After a year that had many ups and downs, we are very happy with our overall results but know that we left some on the table and Keegan and our entire team hope to rectify that this year!! I have made Keegan a promise that if he does well this season, we will take him to the Nationals!! (Shh. I am kinda looking forward to it!!)

We have some of the best partners in the game and I want to thank them all, but first I would really like to thank the new ones that have Joined our team this year.
Not only is he the Primary partner on Keegan’s Bandolero, and Morgan could not be more happy that she also gets to represent him this year, he is not only one of my good friends, but one of the smartest when it comes to all things racing, Cory McAllister and his Two Speed Motorsports team! We are so lucky to have these guys in our corner and can’t thank them enough for all of their support!!

Brand new on both cars this year. A family that is a staple around Sunset Speedway, and the racing community in Ontario, we are honoured to welcome Marlene McLean and Mike Brown and their company Halford's Tax Services. The kids hope to make you both even more proud of them than you both already are!!

Again, joining both cars for the 2026 season, we couldn’t be more happy to represent one of the best, no wait , THE BEST real estate agencies in Simcoe County, please welcome Ms. Property Girlz & Guyz - Tia Sanginesi. Tia already has some plans that she would like us to be apart of this summer, including a car show, and she shares the same enthusiasm that we do when it comes to community engagement and we look forward to working with her and her team this year so stay tuned for some exciting stuff over the summer. Oh and if you are looking to buy or sell some property let us know and will get you in the right direction!!

Although these guys were on our cars last year, they kicked off our season in a very positive matter and it is only fitting to give them a huge shoutout!! We need to thank The Stickers N' Scuffs Community for picking both Morgan and Keegan to represent them this year as two of their ambassadors!! Both kids are humbled that you chose them and they are both glad to represent a group that has so much passion for racing. Thank you for everything that you do!
