Wrong gear? A little bit of panic? No problem. 😂🚛

▶️ Watch the exact moment Rick Mercer hits the slick pad for his very first emergency lane change at Skid School.

This intense exercise shows what it feels like to build real-world muscle memory. Learning how to steer through a slide before it happens on a highway is the best insurance a driver can have.

**REMINDER** Skid School is officially OPEN for registration! Whether you're a seasoned driver looking for a refresher or just starting out, our controlled track training builds the confidence you need for unpredictable road conditions.

What should you do if you can’t see your trailer tires in your mirrors? 🌧️

If you’re hauling in heavy rain, that blinding mist behind you isn’t just a nuisance—it completely cuts off visibility for everyone else on the road.

Managing your trailer spray is a critical habit for professional and everyday drivers alike. When the highway turns into a wall of water, making a few quick, smooth adjustments keeps the whole road safe.

Quick Rain Check for Your Next Haul:

☑️ Watch your mirrors: If your own tires are lost in the mist, you are officially invisible to the traffic behind you.

☑️ Smoothly drop your speed: Easing off the accelerator is the fastest way to minimize the heavy mist your trailer creates.

☑️ Increase your following distance: Give yourself—and those around you—plenty of room to react to sudden stops.

Professional driving isn't just about handling your own vehicle; it's about managing the environment you create for others.

💬 Drivers, what’s your number one rule for staying safe during heavy highway downpours? Drop your tips in the comments below!

Can't see? Pause. 🛑

Following up on last week's post, the dry summer and construction season brings with it its own special road hazard: dust!

Blowing dust isn't just a housekeeping issue—it's a critical road safety hazard that can blind truck drivers, spotters, and nearby traffic in a split second.

When the dust rises, your speed should drop. If you ever lose clear visibility of your surroundings, pull back, slow down, and reassess before moving your equipment.

🚚 Drivers: What’s your go-to strategy for staying safe in low-visibility construction zones or dirt roads? Share your tips in the comments below!

🚧 Construction season is really revving up this year.

Orange cones are once again the most common sighting on our highways. But for professional drivers, loaded trailers, and anyone hauling heavy tow units, roadwork zones aren’t just a minor traffic delay—they demand an entirely different approach to driving.

When you're pulling extra weight, your stopping distance changes drastically. A standard construction zone is packed with unpredictable hazards that require your absolute focus:

⚠️ Workers on Foot & Moving Equipment: Human lives and heavy machinery are operating just inches from your lane.

⚠️ Unpredictable Terrain: Loose gravel, milled pavement, steel plates, and uneven temporary lanes can severely compromise your traction.

⚠️ Reduced Reaction Time: Sudden temporary signage means you need to adjust your speed well before you enter the bottleneck.

The golden rules for navigating these zones safely? Slow down. Stay alert. Brake early. Let's make sure both our drivers and our roadside crews get home safely at the end of every shift.

💬 Drivers: What’s the trickiest construction setup or bottleneck you’ve had to navigate so far this year? Drop your experiences or tips in the comments below!

"What would that cone represent?"
"A Honda Civic." 😅

▶️ Watch Rick Mercer get an inside look at our skid pad and emergency lane change maneuvers.

It looks like fun, but the real-world stakes are incredibly high. Knowing exactly how your truck reacts when it loses traction is what keeps you—and those Honda Civics around you—safe on the highway.

**REMINDER** Our specialized Skid School is open for the season! Don't wait for the first major winter storm to test your reflexes.
