Surveyed a boat a couple days ago which had seen some serious offshore miles. It was a particularly beautiful day. The owner had an excellent reminder for themselves that is sage advice for all of us that sail.

Our surveys are powered by coffee! We heard about FIX Coffee Roastery during the Salty Dip podcast produced by Black Wolf Racing. FIX was kind enough to recently donate coffee to a local sailing event. We like to support those who support local sailing so we are giving it a try!

The "Sportboat Revolution" is officially here, and the energy at Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club on Wednesday was awesome

We had a fantastic time chatting ORC Sportboat and measurement at SNSYC. It was a brilliant evening diving into the technical complexities that make this class so dynamic. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to discuss the future of racing.

A special shoutout to Mike Wills(Layline Marine Survey)for leading the measurement charge. As well as the great organisers of the Patos Island Race. We spent the session exploring how ORC measurements are the backbone of fair, competitive racing and the use cases for the Sport Boat Class. By using dynamic ratings, we’re not just racing: we’re building a level playing field where skill and strategy truly shine.

At Black Wolf Racing, we’re hoping to see this community grow. Whether you're a seasoned pro or looking to get into sportboat racing, the momentum is building, and we’re here to help you get on the water with confidence.
