🚨 90mph in an HGV?! 🚨😲
Officers from Northamptonshire's Serious Collision Investigation Unit recently reflected on a roadside stop that left even experienced traffic officers speechless... 👮♂️🚔
During a joint enforcement operation, a wagon driver initially ignored instructions to stop for DVSA officers. What the driver didn't realise was that two Roads Policing vehicles were only moments away. 🚓💨
A quick change of heart followed, and the vehicle was escorted to the inspection site. 🚛➡️🚔
Once officers from the Roads Policing and Road Crime Teams began their checks, the reasons for avoiding the stop soon became apparent:
❌ Defective speed limiter
❌ Worn tyres
❌ Faulty brakes
❌ Minimal tachograph records
But the most alarming discovery was yet to come... 😳
📈 Tachograph data showed the wagon had previously reached an astonishing 90mph.
For a heavy goods vehicle, that's a terrifying speed and a serious danger to everyone on the road. ⚠️
