📍 Local Gem: Wassand Hall & Walled Gardens

If you're staying at Field View and looking for a nice day out, Wassand Hall is well worth a visit.

Set within beautiful East Yorkshire countryside, the estate is home to stunning restored walled gardens filled with colourful borders, unusual plants, a cactus house and plenty of hidden corners to explore. Beyond the gardens, you can enjoy tranquil woodland and parkland walks with views across Hornsea Mere, making it the perfect place to slow down and enjoy nature, and maybe even have a picnic🧺.

On selected Open Days, you can also step inside the beautiful Regency Hall, which has been in the same family for generations and houses an impressive collection of paintings, furniture and antiques. After exploring, treat yourself to homemade cake and a hot drink in the charming tea room, located within the walled gardens. On Garden Days, self-service refreshments are also available for visitors.

Opening days, admission prices and what's available vary throughout the season, so it's worth checking the calendar before you visit.

It's only a short drive from Field View and makes for a lovely, relaxing day out🌿

We've already seen this in use by people enjoying some tea, some drinks, or just for a nice sit and chat. And it has been in the perfect spot for the heatwave too🥵
