Unfortunately, our vehicle was hit this morning whilst parked in Sainsbury’s car park in Bourne, and rather frustratingly, the person responsible decided to drive away without leaving a note or making any attempt to take responsibility.
Thankfully, two witnesses were kind enough to stop and provide us with a description of both the gentleman involved and the vehicle, which we appreciate massively.
So here’s the opportunity to do the right thing.
We are giving the gentleman involved 24 hours to come forward and put this right. If we receive no response within that time, we will be passing all information, including dash cam footage, directly to the police and allowing them to take the matter further.
Now, we know full well what we do for a living. We repair and paint cars every day, and realistically we could simply repair this ourselves and get on with life.
But that isn’t the point.
At EJ’s Bodyworks, over the last year we’ve helped many people in situations exactly like this, heavily discounting repairs for people left out of pocket because somebody else caused damage and drove away. We’ve done this because we believe it’s unfair, immoral, and something that happens far too often.
People should be held accountable for their actions. Just because you can drive away and hope nobody noticed doesn’t make it acceptable.
Doing the right thing shouldn’t be difficult, and we hope the individual involved chooses to come forward.
