🚗 🎉 📢 🌟 A FANTASTIC way to start the weekend with a PASS for Esme Worthington in Doncaster this morning!

Although Esme only had a couple of lessons in Doncaster prior to her test, she came in, controlled her nerves brilliantly, and showed the examiner exactly what she was made of. A well-deserved result! 👏

Thank you Tracey Worthington for letting me be part of another of your beautiful daughter’s driving journey. The entertainment value has been top-notch, and I’m definitely going to miss her chattering away, and hearing all about the kittens! I’m already prepping for the next 🫣

Drive safely Esme, enjoy your freedom, and congratulations once again! 🎉

💰💰 Beat the Price Increase! 💰💰

As per my previous post… my lesson prices will be increasing from Monday 6th July.

The good news? If you book and pay before Monday, you’ll secure my current prices and save money on driving lessons. I’ll simply credit your account with the relevant hours and deduct them as we go.

I’ve had quite a few students take me up on this, it’s a great way of saving money. Don’t miss out—lock in today’s rates before they’re gone!

📩 Send me a message to book or ask any questions. I can honour this for a week or so, to allow time for getting the money to me if need be.

Once again, apologies for the need to do this, and thank you to all students and parents for your continued business and support.

🚗 🚧 ⚠️ LOOSE ROAD CHIPPINGS 🚗 🚧 ⚠️

Specifically relevant to lots of students and residents around me now, as one of the main roads through a local village is in the process of being resurfaced.

Why are you asked to slow to 20 mph on freshly resurfaced roads?

You may be on a road with a 50 mph speed limit, but if it’s been newly tarmacked and covered with loose chippings, temporary signs may advise 20 mph.

Here’s why:
👉Loose stones can reduce tyre grip, especially when braking or cornering.
👉Chippings can be thrown up by your tyres, damaging your own vehicle or those around you.
👉Slower speeds give you more time to react to changing road conditions and protect road workers if they’re still on site.

As a driver, your speed should always match the conditions—not just the speed limit. Reading the road ahead and adjusting your driving is a key skill that keeps everyone safe.

Drive to the conditions. Drive safely. 🚗💨

To all my valued students,

From 6th July, there will be an unavoidable increase to my lesson prices.. bringing me in line with other local instructors. Lessons going forward will be £45 per hour (£90 for the 2 hours) or discounted for block bookings.

This isn’t a decision I’ve made lightly. I’ve avoided increasing my prices for quite some time now and have absorbed the rising costs myself. Unfortunately, with the continued increase in insurance, vehicle maintenance, and other business expenses, I can no longer continue to do so.

I’d like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and I truly appreciate your understanding and continued support.

If you’d like to beat the price increase, you can prepay for lessons at the current rate before 6th July. Any lessons you purchase in advance will be credited to your account and can be used after the price increase, allowing you to save considerable money. If you’d like to explore this option, please make direct contact with me.

Thank you for your continued support—it really does mean a lot to me, and I look forward to helping you on your journey to passing your driving test.

Katy xx

Big shout out to Jake at Motor Medics Doncaster for once again prioritising and sorting my car without question.

It’s really important when your wheels are your business to have a ‘go to’ that treats you with respect, knowing your time is money and not ripping you off in the process.

I wouldn’t go anywhere else, and thank you as always for your speedy help!!

Not every driving test ends with a pass, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a success.

Today, my student didn’t get the result they were hoping for, but the examiner gave some incredible feedback, even saying they’d be happy to hand them their own car keys. That says so much about the quality of their driving and the confidence they’ve built behind the wheel, which in itself was incredible for this particular student, and they should be insanely proud, as am I!!

Sometimes it’s just one or two small mistakes that stand between you and a pass. The important thing is not to let one result knock your confidence. Learn from it, keep believing in yourself, and come back stronger.

Progress isn’t always a straight line, but every lesson, every test, and every experience makes you a better, safer driver. Your licence is still within reach. 🚗💙

☀️ 🥵 With the current UK heatwave, there’s no need to worry about staying comfortable during your driving lesson!

My car is cooled down with air conditioning before every lesson starts, and kept nice and cool throughout the day, so you can focus on your driving without the heat distracting you.

And if the air conditioning somehow isn’t enough to cool you down… I’ll happily throw a bucket of ice-cold water over you at the end of the lesson! 😄💦 just say the word 🤪🤣

Stay hydrated, stay comfortable, and i’ll see you on the road!

A good reminder to parents of any pupils starting to learn to drive ..........

Driving in the 80s

When most of us were learning to drive it took on average 10 hours to pass the test. Most had been behind the wheel in a farm, or in a yard of their dads or grandads friend.

👉 Reverse parking was not taught.
👉 There was no Theory Test.
👉 There was no hazard perception test.
👉 There was no independent drive section.
👉 There were no show me/tell me questions.
👉 There were no/very few bus lanes.
👉 There were no red routes.
👉 There were no/very few cycle lanes.
👉 There were no advanced stop lines.
👉 Cyclists were taught cycling proficiency at school.
👉 Pedestrians were taught the Green X Code.
👉 There were more police enforcing driving standards.
👉 There were less vehicles on the road.
👉 There were hardly any parked cars.
👉 Most had never heard the term "road rage"
👉 There were no speed humps, 20 zones, "chicanes" or other traffic "calming" measures.
👉 other drivers gave space and time while learners were in view.
👉 There were less/no mini roundabouts/double mini roundabouts.
👉 Roads were better maintained with signs and line markings you could actually see, and pot holes had not been invented.
👉 Supermarkets were not open 24/7 and closed on Sundays so you could always use their car parks for some initial practice.
👉 The test only lasted about 20 minutes.

Your children have so much more to deal with than you ever did so please show them respect, don't pressurise them due to the cost, ask yourself, are you putting a value on their life?

All I ask is to just give them the support they deserve for just attempting to learn to drive on todays roads yet alone facing the dreaded L test.

The question is, would you pass your driving test if I asked you to sit a mock test tomorrow?
