How to Keep Your Car Safe in Hot Weather ☀️

With temperatures rising, a little extra care can help prevent breakdowns and costly repairs.

💧Check your coolant level – Your cooling system works harder in hot weather. Make sure coolant is topped up and there are no leaks.

🚗 Monitor tyre pressures – Heat causes air inside tyres to expand. Check pressures regularly and adjust them to the manufacturer's recommendation.

🔋 Look after your battery – High temperatures can reduce battery life and increase the risk of failure.

🌡️ Keep an eye on the temperature gauge – If your engine starts overheating, stop driving when safe to do so and allow it to cool down.

💧 Check fluid levels – Engine oil, brake fluid, and screen wash should all be maintained at the correct levels.

🅿️ Park in the shade where possible – This helps protect your paintwork, dashboard, and interior from sun damage.

❄️ Test your air conditioning – A properly functioning A/C system keeps you comfortable and can help prevent driver fatigue.

If you're unsure whether your vehicle is ready for the summer heat, CC Car Repairs can carry out checks to keep you on the road safely. 🔧🚗

Diagnostic & Repair Completed 🔧

Customer’s car had an Engine Management Light with a fault code P0171 (System Too Lean).

After diagnosis, the fault was traced to a failed EVAP canister, causing fuel vapour to leak into the intake system and resulting in rough starts and the warning light appearing.

EVAP canister replaced, fault cleared, and vehicle retested with no further issues found… all in less than an hour 🧰
