Late notice, I know, but is there any chance of someone putting me up for a couple of days in North Wales so I can hop in the car with my son when he passes the boat on Tuesday and stay for a couple of nights?

Not the restaurant service but the pub’s contribution to TooGoodToGo. Staff didn’t know what they were doing and tried to fob us off with half the amount of dessert that we’d paid for in the app.

I made an exploratory foray into my water tank whilst refurbishing my welldeck. Astonished and thrilled at how good the condition is. I was expecting buckets of rust as per other people’s experiences (the hatch hasn’t been opened for 18 years), but I just pulled out a fraction of a bucket, mostly from the sides, and the baseplate looks in fabulous condition. Such a relief after worrying about it for quite a while.

It seems to have been sealed with a cement-like coating?

Making things out of rope has been paused while I apply some desperately needed maintenance to my paintwork. I know I have to go into the water tank, but I really really don’t want to!

Kiki has a tiny injury to her tail but she is a licking fool who can turn the slightest scratch into an open sore in minutes. Previous attempts to stop her have been unattractive to say the least, so I’ve decided to go with the double cone-head look, this time. Far more elegant, I think.
