Meet the Cornish lugger our Rigger Drew has been slowly bringing back to life ⚓
She was built in 1926 for the Thomas brothers of Mevagissey and spent around 40 years drift-netting out of the harbour. In the 60s she moved to Falmouth as a shark boat, and in the 80s she was converted back to sail. In the 2000s she crossed the Atlantic, calling at Morocco, Brazil, the Caribbean and America, before returning home to Cornwall.
In May 2025 she sank in Gloucester canal. That’s when Drew stepped in to save her, and he’s been rebuilding her piece by piece ever since 🛠️
