Why are MTCS certificates valid for three years? Because things change. Safety critical activities, legislation and maintenance procedures can all move on in that time, so revalidation makes sure your competence stays current. You'll be notified by automated email as your certificate nears its expiry date, and depending on how you were originally certified, you'll either redo your ICA or submit evidence like witness statements and appraisals for GA revalidation. Big update for anyone with a Grade Assessment certificate. From 1st January 2027,
the GA Renewal process is changing.
Your enrolment and verification will need to be completed before your current certificate expires. This keeps your certificates running consecutively, with no gap in your competence record. The price stays the same.

We're on the lookout for an ROV Instructor and Course Developer to join the MTCS team.

If you have hands-on ROV experience and an electrical or electronics background, this could be a great next step. You will deliver training courses on ROV systems, High Voltage, Hydraulics and Control Systems, and help develop new courses as our business grows.

This is a UK-based role, with some travel to client locations required. Starting salary is £40,000 to £45,000 depending on experience.

Legible writing when providing contact information on MTCS forms.

MTCS recommend using block capitals to detail any names and email addresses.

Relevant to any Witness Statements, Appraisals, Assessor Sign Off Form, Record Witness Form, High Voltage Practical Assessment - Assessor Feedback Form.

Candidates need to ensure that any names and email addresses are clear and legible, this will prevent any delays as MTCS may contact Assessors and Witnesses as part of the verification process.

Training is a vital step. But it does not make someone competent on its own.
