Goresbridge Motorhome Aire , Co Kilkenny
Last weekend on the June bank holiday we headed spontaneously to Goresbridge motorhome Aire to try it out.
You cant book ahead of time , its first come first served. It costs €10 per night and has space for 35 vans approx.
Located along the river Barrow approx 20 mins from Graiguenamanagh, you will find Goresbridge a beautiful little village with 2 pubs, petrol station & shop and a delicious chipper. The village is less than a 10 minute stroll out of the aire.
The aire itself has no facilities other than grey & black waste disposal and refuse bins. A tap is located for fresh water at the main road entrance by the bridge.
This aire is for motorhomes only , no tents and no caravans.
We found it to be the most relaxing setting and boats some gorgeous walks right from the site.
Its a wonderful facility and was fabulous to see it so busy and get the opportunity to support it ourselves and spend in the village.
We were 2 vans and stayed 2 nights, ate out both nights and shopped in the village and purchased diesel. We love to support community initiatives just like this one as we feel the local community benefits hugely.
As stated in the video a planning application has been submitted so hopefully this gets the green light and sees this facility go from strength to strength!
