π₯ WHAT DESTROYED THIS ENGINE?
REPEATED SEVERE OVERHEATING! ππ§
π₯ YOUR ENGINE COOLS DOWN. THE DAMAGE DOESN'T! ππ§
π AUTOTENT |AUTOINSIGHT
π‘οΈ Your engine overheats. You stop, allow it to cool, and the temperature returns to normal..
You think you're safe to continue driving? Think again! π
The temperature may have dropped, but the fault that caused the overheating could still be there.
Keep driving without addressing it, and a manageable problem could lead to serious engine damage.
π₯ UNDERSTANDING ENGINE OVERHEATING
π‘οΈ What is overheating?
It occurs when an engine's temperature rises beyond its normal operating range, potentially damaging critical components.
π§ What causes it?
Coolant leaks, a faulty thermostat, radiator problems, a failing water pump, cooling-fan failure, or other cooling-system faults can cause overheating.
β οΈ What are the consequences?
Excessive heat can compromise engine lubrication, accelerate bearing wear, warp the cylinder head, damage the head gasket, and, in severe cases, cause engine seizure.
π AUTOINSIGHT LESSON
Allowing an overheated engine to cool does not mean the problem is fixed. Repeatedly driving it while the underlying fault remains can turn a repairable problem into extensive engine damage.
When your engine overheats, stop driving, let it cool safely, and have the cause diagnosed before using the vehicle again.
π‘οΈ Never open a hot radiator cap.
