With more people hitting the roads over summer, make sure you take those fatigue breaks!. It only takes a moment of losing concentration to change everything. If you're feeling tired, pull over somewhere safe and have a rest. Better to arrive late than not at all!
This 2020 Mitsubishi Triton came to us at The Panelshop EBOP looking a little worse for wear after the driver thought he was okay to keep going. Unfortunately, fatigue can catch up with anyone!
We got straight into assessing the damage and ordering parts, with the entire left-hand side taking a hiding! There were plenty of parts to replace and some skilled old-school panelbeating needed to get everything straight again.
Once we'd worked our magic, it was off to the Team at Whittaker Car Painters for that silky-smooth metallic finish!
Another owner's pride and joy back looking mint and ready to hit the road again!
So, as you head away these summer holidays, LOOK AFTER YOURSELF, TAKE YOUR BREAKS & STAY SAFE ON OUR ROADS! ❤️

When Gary & the team from Gary Fowell Builders & Mayfair Pools had a little mishap with one of their trailers, The Panelshop EBOP was more than happy to sort them out!
We got stuck into the repairs and made sure the trailer could be safely locked up again, ready to get straight back out onto the worksites where it belongs!
Always happy to help out our local businesses and keep them moving so they can get on with what they do best!

Old work mate Pete Taylor from Whakatāne Boardmills, Black Shift Days, called in Friday afternoon to show off his completed 883 Harley-Davidson. Looking pretty damn good, Pete!
I was lucky enough to have a hand in restoring this Harley with Repairs to the steel tank, and with Pete being an ex-panelbeater himself, he’s still got those old-skool skills all these years later! Gotta love seeing a bit of that experience and knowledge still being put to good use.
With the weather warming up, it’s the perfect season to get those pride and joys out, go for a good cruise, and enjoy some of the awesome roads we’ve got here in the EBOP.

CAMPER SEASON IS HERE AGAIN!
With the weather looking amazing right now, it's time to get those campers ready for their summer adventures
This camper rolled into The Panelshop EBOP with water leaks and rust around the windscreen. So Kyle from K2 Auto Glass got straight into removing the old screen, and that's when we discovered the problem! The last time the windscreen was replaced, the frame hadn't been primed properly, leaving bare steel exposed to the elements.
And what happens when bare steel is left exposed to the weather? IT RUSTS! 😬
With all the rust removed and the frame treated and finished off with a fresh lick of paint, it was time to fit a brand-new windscreen and get this camper sealed up properly.
Now it's off for a WOF and then back on the road, ready to enjoy those summer adventures RUST-FREE & LEAK-FREE!
A big thanks to Kyle from K2 Auto Glass for helping us get this one sorted. It's all about doing the job right the first time and keeping you on the road!

Another Tradie’s Pride & Joy Getting Some TLC at The Panelshop EBOP!
When the team from King Plaster & Paint needed some TLC and a quick turnaround on their trusty work van, it was straight into The Panelshop EBOP!
We got stuck into the repairs and had it ready to go for Monday morning, back out on the road servicing the Eastern Bay with their quality workmanship.

There are so many different skills in our automotive industry, and Paintless Dent Removal is definitely one of them. 👌
So when Darryl Begg from Dent Magician called in to The Panelshop EBOP to show off some of his years of knowledge and experience, young Tyler Isley was all ears! 👨‍🔧
It was awesome watching Darryl pass on some of his skills and knowledge to the next generation. Tyler was absolutely blown away by how it was done — and even better, once Darryl had finished, you couldn’t even see where the dent had been! 👌
Those of us who have been in the automotive industry for 30+ years are starting to get to that age where we need to make sure we pass our knowledge and skills on to the younger generation before some of these old-school skills are lost forever.
I remember having a yarn with Jack, Hau & myself at the start of the year and between the 3 of us we had 97 years of automotive experience! Not bad for 3 high school dropouts! 🤣🤣
We’ve still managed to master skills that very few people know these days — but skills that are still very much needed.
Now, with Darryl’s experience added to the mix, that makes 127 years of automotive knowledge and experience between the 4 of us!
WOW… I’m starting to feel old! 😂😂
But if we can pass even a little bit of that knowledge on to the younger generation, then hopefully these skills will keep living on for many years to come.
Keep the skills alive. Keep learning. Keep passing it on

Barra Turbo Beast
As Michael Clifton from Unfinished Development's beast of a Barra Turbo Territory is still getting all the little niggles and bugs sorted, it was off for a test run at Auto Feast in Tauranga in preparation for the Dirt Drags & Summer Nats!
It sounds absolutely bloody awesome, and when all that power gets to the rear wheels, it hooks up and Mike lets it go…
If you see this thing in action, don’t hesitate to stop and have a yarn with Mike about his creation and the memories behind the build. There’s a lot of time, passion and history gone into this build & There’s nothing quite like the smell of burning rubber — and when it’s done in a safe and controlled environment, even better!
Good luck with the rest of the testing Mike. Can’t wait to see what this can do!

Black Edition Triton
The colour on this Black Edition Mitsubishi Triton is absolutely amazing and really stands out!
After a bit of a mishap down the side of this ute, it was straight into The Panelshop EBOP for a full strip-down and repairs.
Once we had everything straightened out and looking right, it was off to the boys at Whittaker Car Painters for their magic touch and that mirror-finish paint job. 👌
Back together and looking just like new again! Another pride & joy ready to hit the roads.

Always gotta love the sound of a V8! 😎
Another BOSS Falcon has rolled into The Panelshop EBOP for a bit of well-deserved TLC. We got stuck into this beast and had it looking the part again!
The owner was smiling ear to ear when he picked up his pride & joy — always makes the hard work worth it!

When the hard-working ute from Ohiwa Oyster Farm needed some much-needed rust repairs to get through its WOF, it was straight into The Panelshop EBOP!
We got stuck into it and had those rust repairs sorted so they could get their trusty workhorse back on the road, serving the Bay with their much-loved oysters! 🦪
We’re always more than happy to help out our local businesses and keep them ON THE ROAD!
