Over 2000' of concrete barricades line both sides of the track, enhancing safety, reducing the effects of crosswinds and reducing the chance for debris to enter the racing surface. Spaces are angled to ease entrance and exit from the pit spaces. There is covered seating for 500 on both sides of the track. There are excellent views of the entire track, starting line to the finish, from all seats. The stands are handicap accessible with close by handicap parking. A professional sound system feeds the stands, pits and the parking areas with information, commentary and professionally produced sponsor information broadcasts
Abilene Dragstrip was built by Burl Harris and Tommy Simons
