A quick update for everyone who has followed Welch All Auto since we started. 👇

We’ve transitioned from mobile service to a dedicated shop in Abilene and are now taking appointments for shop based repairs. Moving into a dedicated shop allows us to take on larger and more involved jobs that we weren’t able to comfortably handle as a mobile operation. Same business. Same focus on doing good work. New setup. 💪

For the time being, we’re offering shop based service only. If you need repairs, diagnostics or maintenance, message us to get on the schedule. 🔧

Sun’s out, hoods up. Another productive day out in the Texas heat doing what we do best.

Starter replacement knocked out on this Lexus LS430. You wouldn’t believe where Lexus put the starter on this car…buried under the intake manifold. Definitely not the quickest starter job, but we got it handled and put back together the right way so this Lexus is back to starting like it should.

Out to this Chevy HHR this morning with complaints of drivability issues and oxygen sensor codes. We performed a full diagnostic, replaced both the upstream and downstream O2 sensors, and then verified proper sensor operation and fuel trim readings afterward to make sure the repair was doing exactly what it should.

O2 sensors play a major role in fuel control. When they fail, they can cause rough running, poor fuel mileage, hesitation, and check engine lights. Replacing the sensors is important, but verifying short term and long term fuel trims afterward helps confirm the engine is running correctly and the issue is actually resolved.

This Chevy Malibu wasn’t just making a little noise it had to be towed to the repair because the rear control arm had completely cracked in half, making it unsafe to drive.

A failed rear control arm can cause the suspension to shift unexpectedly, leading to poor handling, excessive tire wear, and a serious safety risk. We replaced the broken control arm right at the customer’s location and got everything back together so they could safely get back on the road.
