The 2012 “summer series” wraps up in style with an awards presentation on September 12th held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Victorville, CA.

1972 Motorsports was present to humbly accept their awards. But, the true award was being a part of the event. The officers executed a near perfect presentation of awards and raffle prizes to a fully packed banquet room, and 1972 Motorsports didn’t leave empty handed - out of 20 raffle tickets, four of them would be winners!

Many happy faces and some even tears of joy. Honorary guest, Kurt Caselli, would present, in professional style, the 5th annual “Rich Caselli Memorial Trophy” to the deserving sportsman of the year. While the sportsman may have been tears of joy, 72MS may have been one (or two!) of the happy faces with their AMA Southern California Championship Motocross Series Award Trophies (see pictures). Maybe the most distinguished award for 72MS was the many new friends earned from this series.

72MS is a proud 2012 sponsor for Andrew Delgado Jr. And, with his typical result producing style, he would not be a let-down at the awards presentation. He picked up the District King of the Track B award as well as the number 1 trophy in the Heavyweight B class. His young brother Dylan would pick up the 2nd place trophy in class along with the “Hard Charger Award” for racing with a broken arm in the latter part of the series, only to continue his chance at the Championship.

1972 Motorsports is looking forward to the 2013 series with a regrouped and race-ready team.

Rovers MC Hosted round 8 of the AMA summer series at Racetown - August 11th.
Summer Series for sure as the heat just kept coming on stronger and stronger. The sun was a serious foe that day. Some of our friends got lucky however as a mid day cloud provided some shade during their races with showers in the distance and a nice show of lightning. No such luck for me as the hot sun was back out for moto # 2. Lost the bike on the first table top just after the start and was fortunate not to get landed on by my fellow racers. Big thank you to the flaggers for helping me out. I managed to limp across the finish line to get some needed points. All in all - the day ended well.

August 4th & 5th marks Rounds 6 and 7 at the Ranch in Anza, CA. 1972 Motorsports earns a few more race points but its primary focus was to shoot video of Round 6, which was also MX Round 2 of the Best of the West Series.

Prospectors MC Hosted an action packed day of racing at Gorman/Quail Canyon MX park on July 22nd. It was a great turnout with families, young racers, seasoned racers, beginners, pros and everyone in between including vintage, quads and sidecar bikes all lining up to bump bars and share in the fun at Round 5 of the AMA Summer Series. USA ISDE Trophy Team Member and Worcs Champion Kurt Caselli was here racing, showing his support and fundraising as well. Like I said - It was a great day of racing. Check out the video with highlights of this event on this page. We managed to gear up and race between shooting video placing mid pack in our respective classes.

Dirt Diggers hosts an action packed weekend of racing at Milestone July 7th and 8th. As the summer temperatures started to soar the 72 motorsports team places 2nd, and 3rd Saturday night, and a 2nd place finish on Sunday in their respective classes. Halfway through the series with some great racing still to come.

Four Aces motorcycle club hosts Round 2 of the MX series at Glen Helen Raceway. 1972 Motorsports lends a hand as flaggers for the day.

Sunday June 24th, Round 1 of the 2012 AMA SoCal Championship Motocross Series at Competitive Edge MX Race Park dropped its gates. And, just as consistent as 1972 Motorsports has been with their numbers game, the team comes home with a “Four of a kind“ finish; checkered flags yielded 3-3 for both race numbers 372 and 972 in their respective class.
