Whew! Congrats to Builder's Choice, Capt. Brent Gaskill, Birthday Boy Harris Huddle and Angler / "Big Rock Big Hero" Joe Herman on releasing a blue and weighing in this 530-pounder today. A fish that would place most years, but not during this week's amazing bite so far! The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament

06/10/2026

We dropped this video back in 2019, but we had to bring it out of the archives because Builder’s Choice is headed to the Big Rock scales RIGHT NOW. The mission has never changed.

Born to fish. Built to win. Let’s see what she weighs! ⚖️🔥

919.9 POUNDS. A new Big Rock tournament record. 🤯

Massive congratulations to the crew of Marlin Fever (Jarrett Bay Hull 51) for hauling an absolute monster to the scales yesterday and cementing their place in tournament history.

There is no better way to celebrate 40 years of Carolina boatbuilding heritage than watching one of our etch their name into the record books right here at home. Sometimes the stories write themselves.

We dug deep into the Jarrett Bay archives for the 40th Anniversary and decided to make some history move.

In the new Big Rock commercial, every single video clip you see was actually built from a static photograph from Jarrett Bay’s past. If you swipe to the second slide, you can see the raw original photo of the legendary first shed in Williston, NC, right on the water that gave the company its name: Jarrett Bay. (*This bay was formerly known as “Jarretts Bay” which is why the sign has an “s”)

It’s wild seeing the humble sawdust beginnings brought to life while the fleet is offshore chasing monsters all week.

Tune into Big Rock TV this week or come down to the weigh station to see the full commercial on the big screen.

From a small shop in Williston, NC to 40 years of custom sportfishing excellence.

40 years of boatbuilding.
40 years of innovation.
40 years of tradition.
40 years of chasing monsters.
40 years of Big Rock.

We're celebrating 40 years of Jarrett Bay as the 68th Annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament gets underway. Every moving clip in this film began as an archival photograph from our history and was brought to life with the help of AI—tastefully honoring our heritage through innovation and new tools. What do you think of the outcome?

I've been wiring boats at Jarrett Bay for almost 28 years, and I still love what I do. My favorite part of the job is still wiring panels. Getting everything organized and laid out perfectly is satisfying. A big part of being a marine electrician is just being a problem solver. They’re giant puzzles. It’s a great feeling when you’re able to troubleshoot and solve an issue that no one else can solve. My biggest piece of advice for someone starting out in marine electrical is to take pride in the details of your work. These boats go far offshore with people on them. Being particular about your work isn't just about it looking good, it's about keeping people safe.
