Spotlight Wednesday:
This week, we're proud to recognize Matt Dooley, General Manager of our Gervais Street location in Columbia, SC!

Matt Dooley joined the PGW family in January 2026, bringing with him an incredible background of service, leadership, and dedication. Before entering the automotive industry, Matt proudly served our country in the United States Navy for 24 years. The values he developed during his military career: integrity, accountability, teamwork, and service; continue to guide him every day.

Originally from Rhode Island, Matt has quickly become a valued leader within our organization. Known for being kind, outgoing, organized, and exceptionally honest, he has already made a positive impact on both his team and the community. Matt has helped spearhead several initiatives focused on supporting veterans and is always looking for ways to get involved and give back.
One thing Matt is quick to point out is that success is never a one-person effort. He firmly believes that the accomplishments at our Gervais Street location are the result of a strong team working together toward a common goal. His commitment to recognizing and supporting his team is one of the many reasons he is such a respected leader.

Thank you, Matt, for your service to our country, your dedication to our customers, and the positive impact you continue to make at PGW. We're proud to have you leading Team Gervais!

We are excited as we continue to grow into new opportunities to better serve our customers and communities! For many years, both our teammates and customers have asked us to bring our family-owned company to this side of town.

We have found the perfect location, and the timing is right to expand our footprint and continue serving even more customers.

The future is bright, and we are excited about what’s ahead. The second half of 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting chapters in PGW’s history!

In 2008 the Herlong family founded Palmetto Garage Works with five Midas locations in Columbia, SC. The vision was simple: create the best place to work to attract great employees, provide an exceptional customer experience, and give back to the communities we serve.

That meant investing in our teammates, upgrading our facilities, offering customer conveniences like free loaner cars, and always putting people first.

Fast forward to 2026, and we've grown to nearly 40 locations from Washington, D.C. to Gainesville, Florida. While we've grown, our foundation hasn't changed.

Today, we're proud to employ nearly 350 hardworking teammates from the communities where we live and work. Their dedication to serving customers and supporting one another is what makes PGW special.

Since joining our team in 2014, Shane has been a dedicated and dependable part of our Knox Abbott Drive location. Through the ups and downs, challenges and successes, Shane has remained committed to the team, the business, and the customers who trust us with their vehicles every day.

Known for his loyalty, hard work, and perseverance, Shane has helped build Knox Abbott Drive into what it is today. His dedication over the years has made him a cornerstone of the team and a trusted teammate, leader, and friend within the PGW family.

What stands out most about Shane is his willingness to show up, work hard, and do whatever it takes to help the team succeed. His commitment and positive attitude have made a lasting impact on both his coworkers and the community we serve.
