Freeman's Car Stereo The Carolinas’ best known and most respected name in car, home, & marine audio.
(278)

Established in 1978
Over 30 years ago, John Freeman began installing custom car stereo systems out of a tin storage building. Word quickly spread that here was someone who not only knew how to make automotive sound something special, but knew how to do it at a very reasonable cost. Needless to say, it didn't take long for John Freeman to move to his first real store. Today, Freeman's Car Stereo is the Carolinas' best known and most respected name in mobile entertainment products and installations. Whether it's for a car or a boat, a motorhome, a rock star's tour buss, or a NASCAR legend's Hummer, Freeman's Car Stereo's unsurpassed expertise, quality products and superb installation still provide the value and customer satisfaction that were the foundation of the business begun in that tin shed over 30 years ago. Freeman's exists for just one reason: making that car, that truck, that boat, that motorhome uniquely yours. You can find Freeman's in Charlotte, Cornelius, Concord, Gastonia, Hickory, and Rock Hill.

Here is one way we keep the look classic but add modern sound and tech. This
1963 Cadillac Coupe DeVille got a radio upgrade and new Kenwood speakers while keeping that vintage style intact.

This Lexus RX350 got a serious sound quality upgrade.

Hertz Mille Legend speakers all around, powered by three JL Audio amplifiers with DSP tuning. The result is incredible clarity, rich detail, and a balanced soundstage that brings every instrument and vocal to life. Every part of this system was chosen to make the music sound as good as possible. Work and video by Anthony in Hickory.

Checking in with Chad in Concord:

“The 2024 Tesla Model S Plaid I did a while ago is back for some lighting, an additional Audison M1D that I hid in the floor, and a hood block that keeps the hood from opening completely so the amps are brighter in direct sunlight at shows.”

If you want to see more of this vehicle and see the story of how it came to us at Freeman’s go back to our page and look for the video of the Tesla Plaid.

This 2026 Polaris RZR Pro R came into our Concord store and left with a serious list of upgrades.

Jason installed an extra fuel tank, whip lights, light bars, DRLs, rock lights, side mirrors, a street legal kit, EVA foam kit, extra battery, and a full communication system with intercoms and two-way radio.

A lot went into this one, and it’s ready for just about anything.
