🚿 Tankless Water Heater Descaling: Why It Matters

Most RV owners never see what comes out of a tankless water heater during a descaling service… and that’s exactly why it’s so important.

The first photo shows our descaling setup circulating cleaning solution through the water heater to break down mineral buildup and scale inside the heat exchanger.

The second photo? That’s the same solution after only 15 minutes of circulation. 😳

All that discoloration is contamination and mineral buildup being removed from the system. Over time, scale can reduce efficiency, restrict water flow, cause inconsistent water temperatures, trigger error codes, and shorten the life of your tankless water heater.

Today, while many of us are gathered with friends and family enjoying the freedoms we often take for granted, I encourage everyone to pause and remember what Memorial Day is truly about.

After serving 21 years in the United States Coast Guard and losing numerous friends and shipmates along the way, this day carries a different meaning for many of us who served. Memorial Day is not just about a long weekend… it is about honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice so the rest of us could continue living free.

Today, hug your loved ones a little tighter. Be thankful for the moments around you. And never forget the brave men and women who never made it home.

We hope you all have a safe and meaningful Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day Prayer

Lord our God, we give thanks to you for the great land of our birth with all its liberties and many blessings.

Today we especially give thanks for those who served their country in its hour of need, and for our fallen comrades, who have given their very lives in that service. May we never forget their sacrifice.

Lord, watch over those military men and women on American and foreign soils this day, who knowing the real and potential dangers of their work, stand ready to preserve the cause of freedom with the devotion to duty as those who served before them.

Grant your continued Divine care over the family members who are called upon daily to watch and wave good-bye to their loved ones as they go to their duty as members of our nation’s Armed Forces. Honor their devotion and sacrifice. AMEN.

Sometimes the job takes us a little farther than the campground…

Out on a quiet ranch road, miles from the nearest highway, a customer needed help with their RV furnace. No shop. No hookups. Just gravel, sunshine, and a truck full of tools.

That’s the beauty of mobile RV service. We bring the shop with us.

The tailgate of the service truck.

Pulled the furnace out, set it up on the back of the truck, and got to work right there so this RV owner can get back to enjoying their rig instead of worrying about it.

If you have an RV warranty… you need to read this.

Since starting Countryside RVing, I’ve always tried to adjust our invoicing to match what warranty companies allow so our customers rarely had to pay anything out of pocket.

Unfortunately, many OEM and third-party warranty companies have become cheaper and more restrictive with what they approve and pay for repairs.

Because of that, we can no longer honor warranty labor rates when they fall below the actual cost of the repair.

What does that mean for you?

You may be responsible for any amount the warranty company does not cover.
But you will never be blindsided by pricing.

You will always receive an estimate upfront showing any potential out-of-pocket costs before work begins.

We will continue working with OEM and third-party warranties and will always try to get your claim approved with little to no cost to you. But across the industry, this is becoming less common.

We truly appreciate every one of our customers and will always strive to take care of you and your RV the right way.

Ever wonder how we know a furnace actually works BEFORE it goes back in your RV?

We bench test it. Every time. 🔥

Here’s the setup:

✔️ 12+ and 12- straight to a 12v battery (Milwaukee drill battery in this case)
✔️ Tie the two blue wires together to complete the thermostat signal
✔️ BBQ grill propane adapter hooked to a bottle
✔️ Flip the switch… and boom. Ignition, blower, flame, full cycle.

No guessing. No reinstalling a unit just to find out it still has an issue. We verify operation on the bench so when it goes back in, it’s ready to heat.

If your furnace isn’t lighting, short cycling, or making weird noises… don’t just hope it fixes itself.
