Your brake pads are one of the most important safety systems on your vehicle- but many drivers don't know when it's time to replace them.
Take a look at our Brake Pad Thickness Guide:
🟢6mm+ - Good to go!
🟡3-5mm - Time to plan for a replacement
🔴 Less than 3mm - Replace NOW
The Last two photos show what a brake pad should look like fresh out of the box, and a worn brake pad we recently removed from a customer's vehicle. Once brake pads get thin, stopping distance increases, rotors can become damaged, and repairs become much more expensive.
Common signs you may need new brakes include:
- Squealing or grinding noises
- Vibration when braking
- Soft or spongy brake pedal
- Vehicle pulling while braking
- Brake light warning
At Jaybirdz Garage, we'll inspect your brake system, measure your pad thickness, and let you know exactly what your vehicle needs- no pressure, just honest recommendation.
