And yet again...improperly disposed of rechargeable batteries started a fire! This happened at the DMC Regional Landfill. Thanks to close observation and quick thinking, staff was able to extinguish it. PLEASE do NOT toss rechargeable batteries in with your trash. FREE rechargeable battery disposal options are easy to locate- you can drop them at the HazChem Center Of Southeast Iowa and Swap Shop, major retailers such as Lowes and Menards, and at the Area Recyclers office during business hours. Questions about battery disposal? Contact the HazChem Center Of Southeast Iowa and Swap Shop at 319-753-8758 or message them on their page.

Looking for a large quantity (more than 2 cubic yards) of USCC STA Certified Compost for your next project. DMASWA has screened, and certified compost available for $20/cubic yard (loading fee). Large Quantity pick ups must be scheduled. Schedule a time for pickup at www.dmaswa.org/compost
