Some interesting content here re the Porsche market. Some of my random thoughts related to what was discussed…
-Is it really harder than it’s ever been to find that “good” Porsche that you want?
-How specific is the spec you may be looking for?
-Know your use case… get the Porsche that you’ll enjoy, not the one to impress others or the one everyone else has.
-Today there are more types of sellers out there than ever before… dealers, owners, and auctions. “Want” ads can be an effective way to get the car you want, if you know what you’re looking for.

If you want a partner to help you find that special Porsche or any other vehicle, Catch this Car LLC can help!

Attended the PCA Appalachian Region’s “Appalachian Adventure” last weekend in Kingsport, TN. It was a wonderful 4 days, catching up with Porsche friends new & old. I brought my 1989 944 S2… facing stiff competition (none to be precise), my car won 1st place in its class in Friday’s concours.

Some good tips for buying a classic car (or any car for that matter). Ideal is to get your own eyes on the car AND a pre-purchase inspection. But there are some good screening steps to do before going to that effort and expense (video call, VIN search, e.g.). If you personally inspect the car and/or have a PPI done, it's also important to be realistic - if you're looking for perfection one will likely be disappointed. It's a balance.

Buying an old car sight-unseen is a thrilling proposition, but it's also a risky one. Here are some tips to help navigate the process.

Some good overview info on the Porsche 944... the relatively affordable way to get into a Porsche.

Although prices have climbed recently, the 944 still represents fairly affordable entry into the Porsche realm. Here's what to know before buying.

I received a letter recently from my local Lexus dealer encouraging us to purchase a "Vehicle Service Contract". This is frustrating to me, and it should be for most Lexus owners. One reason we bought a Lexus was its reputation for reliability, and so why do I need to buy a service contract? (We also own a 2014 Lexus... one minor issue over that time that required a $100 part and a couple hours of labor). And the dealer informs me that labor prices are going over $250/hr... a price that they control! Extended warranties need to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. I would recommend it on some cars of a certain age/mileage, but not on a Lexus.
(EDIT: Based on a couple of responses (thanks)... I now realize that this appears to be a service contract for scheduled maintenance and not an extended warranty. I'm now curious... I plan to call the dealer to see how much this costs).
