🔧 Why'd your insurance estimate go up after the shop took the car apart?

Because the first one was written from the outside. Once the bumper cover and panels come off, there's often stuff nobody could see: brackets, absorbers, sensors, sometimes structure. That gets documented and sent to your insurance as a supplement. Same claim, same adjuster, nothing starts over, and on a covered claim your share is still your deductible.

Bring the car itself, because damage behind a bumper cover doesn't show up in a phone picture. Then your insurance card or policy number, your claim number and the adjuster's name if you've already filed, the crash report number from the officer, and any photos you took at the scene. Haven't filed yet? Bring the car and your policy info and yall are fine.

Estimates are free and there's no obligation.
