On a Thursday afternoon earlier this month, one of my clients was telling me about how he has “almost assembled a complete lineup of every year Knucklehead in original paint.” I asked him which years are missing, and he responded “…well the toughest one would be a ’42….. let me know if you come across one.”
Two days later I got a phone call from a gentleman I’ve never heard of before.... This man started telling me about an amazing 1942 Harley Davidson FL Knucklehead that him and his father bought from their cousin back in 1969. The bike had around 20,000 miles on it when they got it, and it has only accumulated around 2,000 more miles over the past 57 years since then; most of its life was spent in the garage!
After he told me this story, I asked “Well, is it original paint?”
The man replied “I believe so.”
I informed my client about this find, and he promptly told me to make the deal happen. I hopped on a plane a couple days later to go see the bike in person, and the rest was history!

Larson MasterWorks is very proud to handle the sale of this incredible original paint 1942 Harley Davidson FL Knucklehead. Not only is the original paint on this bike in amazing condition, but the engine still runs strong. I started this bike on the very first kick, and the previous owner rode it around the block without any issues. This is truly a phenomenal survivor!

Some of the original parts were swapped off of this bike over the years and stored in the attic for safe keeping (wheels, exhaust pipes, coil, etc… not shown in pictures). Thankfully the previous owner had the foresight to hold onto all these original parts so they could be included in the sale!

Thank you to everyone involved in this sale - this is a great bike going to a really great place.

This 1909 Indian Twin motorcycle is the type of machine you might only come across once every few years. This bike has some of the nicest original paint I have ever seen on a pre-1910 Indian. I would say approximately 80%-90% of the original black paint is still present on the bike. The tank decal is gorgeous. The nickel plating is very nice overall... There are a few odds and ends to sort out with the linkages and carburetor, but this bike is an extremely well preserved original paint beauty.

I have not had this engine apart (I don't think anyone has for 100+ years), but I can tell you the internals must be in fairly decent condition. The engine turns over with good compression, and it has spark. I actually got it fire once after dripping some fuel into the intake manifold!

The only thing preventing this machine from running right now is the intake manifold and carburetor - they need to be sealed up and fitted properly.

Overall this is a stunning original machine wearing many extremely rare original parts.

Please see pictures for details of what is all there and what needs some tlc.

*Amazing Opportunity!* 🔥
This 1913 Harley Davidson Model 9E is an incredibly rare find. Those in the hobby may remember this machine's history as it was formerly owned by the late Joe "Slow Joe" Gardella.

Mr. Gardella was a master machinist, and a meticulous rebuilder, restorer, and conservator of antique Harley Davidson motorcycles. He specialized in early 1910's-1920's Harley's along with some amazing knuckleheads from the 30's-40's as well. This 1913 Twin was one of his best early road going machines!

I do not know the extent of the work done inside the engine, but I know this entire bike was thoroughly rebuilt, ridden, and maintained as Joe would ride this bike extensively.

There is very nice original paint and plating present all over the bike. It really has the look of a nicely preserved piece of history!

This bike sat for about 2-3 years between the last time Joe ran it and when I got it running in early June 2026.

It starts very easily, but it will need a little bit of TLC and tuning before running and riding again I'm. This bike is 113 years old - it's amazing it has made it this far in this condition!

Make sure to check out my other motorcycles I've got listed - I will be adding some more amazing machines soon!

Today I am very excited to share this beautiful 1914 Excelsior Model 7C Twin motorcycle for sale! This machine is in extremely nice original condition - showing original paint on almost the entire bike.
The engine turns over with good compression, and it even has spark! ⚡️
There are a few details that need to be addressed on the bike including the missing decompression assembly, but overall it is very complete.
I am confident that this machine could be running with a bit of tlc and tinkering.

There are so many amazing original details on this bike rarely seen including the rubber protective mat riveted to the top of the primary cover, original tank decals, and nickel plating throughout. This is one of the nicer original paint 1914’s in the world as it sits - don’t miss your chance here!

This beautiful piece of history is coming from a collection of 3 premier original paint early bikes. Make sure to follow Larson MasterWorks so you don’t miss out on any others coming up for sale soon!

Last weekend I made a quick trip to the northeast to document a few bikes for consignment. This original 1913 Harley Davidson twin is one of three gorgeous original paint bikes I will be posting for sale very soon from a private collection! I will post a video of this bike running later this week 🔥

Does anyone recognize this bike? It was previously owned and loved by an important pillar in the early Harley community 🙌

When is the last time you got to see a 111 year old motorcycle fly down the street like this?? 🔥
As promised, here is a "running and riding" video of the original 1915 Harley Davidson twin motorcycle we brought back to life.
These early Harley twins are extremely lightweight & tons of fun to ride. This one was built almost totally stock with original standard bore cast iron pistons and the correct original Schebler HX carburetor.
If a well-tuned stock J model can run this hot, just imagine how wicked a hopped up version would be with bigger valves, more aggressive cams, domed aluminum pistons, and a racing carburetor...
(You don't have to imagine; follow this page and you'll see exactly what that set up can do in the near future 😉 )

In the winter of 2024 I drove across the state of North Dakota in a snowstorm to buy a disassembled 1915 Harley Davidson twin motorcycle from a gentleman in Grand Forks. It was literally a pile of (great) parts and a chassis strapped to the wall of his garage.

A year later, that bike was completely finished! We mechanically rebuilt everything, resurrected as much original paint as possible, found some unobtanium missing parts like the original paint toolbox, and brought it back to life! Make sure to follow this page - I will post a nice little video of this bike running and riding soon. It’s really got some power! 🔥

This job took over 160 hours to complete... but now it's a six-figure motorcycle 🤯 Do you think it was worth it???

Check out this amazing 111 year old survivor! 🔥 This is an original paint 1915 Excelsior 3 speed twin motorcycle I rebuilt and did a full preservation job on for a client. These 1910's era motorcycles generally don't spin high rpm's, but they do make plenty of low end torque!
