IT’S BACKKKK!!!!!! ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡ Y’all already know my deep, deep love for ube, and we’re due for another special Ube Box. If you’ve ever tried one of my ube desserts, you already know this isn’t just another “ube flavored” treat. So many ube desserts are made with flavoring and food coloring alone, but every ube dessert I make starts with real ube halaya that I cook low and slow from scratch. It’s the way I grew up eating it, and it’s the flavor that connects me most to my Lolo (Grandfather). Making halaya takes hours, but what you get makes it worth it. It gives ube its natural earthy sweetness with a hint of coconut & a creamy texture. It is a crop that has sustained communities through drought and was used as a sacred offering by our ancestors! This box is my love letter to ube and to the traditions that inspired Butter Half! I CAN’T WAIT FOR Y’ALL TO TRY!
