Totally dropped the ball on getting "before" pics of this project 🤦‍♀️
Not done yet but we're getting closer. Stripped and scrapped and sanded this Ethan Allen table back to raw so we can match another piece in my client's home.

I get it...skulls aren't for everyone. These customers wanted this hutch for their beach house so I was happy to swap the paper to make this piece work for them.

After a few weeks off to wrap up the end of the school year and a trip to see my family, it felt good to get back at it. It did get really hot over those weeks off though! 🥵
I was at this house to refinsh their door and she asked if there was anything I could do to help preserve this antique bench she had gotten from her mom. It lives on the porch so, like the door, it takes a beating in the elements.
The door was redone in Varathane® in . It is my absolute favorite shade. It's a cool, dark brown...almost black. I just think it's such a nice compliment to the stone.
The bench got a good scrub and a light sand.
Both the door and the bench were sealed in BEHR® Paint spar urathane to protect against sun and rain.
I just love how this brought out so much detail on the bench!

My daughter and I are visiting my dad and he is a man who can build/fix/make just about anything. So you can imagine how good it feels when I can teach him something or when I already use a technique he teaches me.

Fresh makeover for this dresser. A basic piece by , a name known for quality, and omgoodness this thing has so much storage! The big drawers are over 10 inches deep!
I have been on a mission to use up paint that I have on hand. As you can imagine, I end up with a lot! This is in . It's a beautiful, creamy, off white...the perfect background for the hand painted, porcelain k***s. Each k**b is a little different pattern of off white, blue and gold. They give this dresser a real Mediterranean feel.
I did a faux wood grain on the base and then lined the drawers in a putty colored paper to mimic the patterns in the k***s. A classic, neutral makeover with a bit of fun with the k***s.

I'll never get over the improvement a freshly done door makes to the overall look of your home. If you think about it, it's the first thing people see as they walk up to your house.
This one was faded but not in bad shape. I used gel stain in hickory and sealed it with spar-thane. It's so important to use the proper products on an exterior (or any!) job. After attempted with other brands, I've found I get the best finish with these.
