When the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series rolled into Sonoma Raceway in 2025, Richard Gadson delivered the kind of weekend every racer dreams about.

The Vance & Hines Suzuki rider captured the first No. 1 qualifier of his Pro Stock Motorcycle career before backing it up on Sunday with a victory at the Sonoma Nationals, cementing one of the biggest weekends of his young NHRA career. Gadson was the fastest rider in qualifying, earning his first top starting position with a standout 6.702-second run, then turned that momentum into a race-day triumph by defeating John Hall in the final round.

The only prize that slipped through his fingers was the GETTRX Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout. Gadson raced all the way to the final before a heartbreaking red-light start against Matt Smith ended his shot at the bonus event victory by the slimmest of margins. Instead of letting the disappointment define his weekend, Gadson responded in championship fashion, bouncing back less than 24 hours later to claim the Sonoma Nationals trophy.

It was a statement weekend that showcased Gadson's speed, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure. He left Sonoma with his first career No. 1 qualifier, a Wally trophy, and proof that he could contend with the best in the category.

Now, as the NHRA returns to Sonoma, all eyes will once again be on Gadson. After coming within one race of sweeping the entire weekend a year ago, he'll be looking to finish the job and add another memorable chapter to what has quickly become one of his favorite stops on the tour.

Trick-Tools Racing has entered into a new partnership with PowerEdge, a brand of Denso Products and Services Americas, Inc., for the remainder of the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season.

PowerEdge will serve as an associate sponsor on rider Chase Van Sant's Pro Stock Motorcycle throughout the season and will be the primary sponsor at two marquee events: the GETTRX All-Star Pro Stock Motorcycle Callout event at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals, and the Mopar NHRA Las Vegas Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The partnership brings together two organizations that share a commitment to performance, reliability, and delivering results under demanding conditions. PowerEdge branding will be prominently featured on Van Sant's motorcycle throughout the season, with expanded visibility during the Sonoma Raceway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway events, where the company will receive primary sponsorship placement.

The 2027 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series is bringing back a more traditional start to the season, kicking off with four of the sport's most historic events. The 76th NHRA season opens Feb. 18-21 with the 67th NHRA Winternationals at Pomona before heading to Phoenix (Feb. 26-28), Gainesville (March 11-14), and Charlotte (April 2-4).
The Winternationals will also mark the beginning of the yearlong "50 Years of Force" celebration, recognizing the incredible career and lasting impact of 16-time Funny Car champion John Force. The tribute starts at Force's home track in Pomona and will continue throughout the entire 2027 season.

"There is something special about beginning an NHRA season in Pomona," NHRA President Glen Cromwell said. "It's one of the most iconic venues in our sport and a place where so much history has been made. Returning to this traditional schedule allows us to honor our roots as we begin to celebrate one of the most remarkable figures in motorsports at John’s home track in Pomona. We’re very excited about these first four races of 2027, which will be another special year in NHRA history.”

After back-to-back weekends in Pomona and Phoenix, teams will have a week off before the prestigious Gatornationals, which also serves as the Pro Stock Motorcycle season opener. The schedule then shifts to Charlotte in early April, moving the popular NHRA 4-Wide Nationals to an earlier spot on the calendar.

More details about the complete 2027 schedule and the season-long 50 Years of Force celebration are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
