Welp, our performance in the finals at Mod Nationals was lackluster at best. We couldn’t end the year like that, so we headed out to Milan for one more outing, and it delivered like it always does. I ran my first 10, 9, 8, and 7 second passes here, all at the end of the year. I knew pulling into the track today it was gonna be a good one. BR had a casualty due to the track surface, so you know it was good!

The exact tune up we had in it for the finals in GA went straight down to a 7.42 @ 191 with a 1.18 short time, proving we just had too much in it for the occasion in the finals. Wish this would’ve gone down because it would’ve actually had been a fun race to watch. But there’s always next time…

We made a few more licks and learned a lot about what the clutch wants at higher power levels. Also learned we have a wheelie problem, so thats priority 1 to tackle this offseason. But we were able to end our season on a good note with another PB of 7.37 @ 191! What a way to end the year!

I can’t thank Adam Miner and Bryan Reid enough for coming out this evening to lend a hand. When the home team comes together, we find a way to figure stuff out and get stuff done. You guys are appreciated more than you know!

Now it’s time to look toward a strong 2027 race season, let modding season begin! 🍻

Going to be tough, but I’m going to do my best to keep this short and sweet…

After this weekend, if you don’t think stick shift racing is alive and well, you’re blind. Ryan Peterson and his team put together one hell of an event. Literally every racer, media entity, and spectator on the property showed the world why this event should be on your calendar every year. We are thankful to have been a part of it with the car this year, and we’re looking forward to next year’s party! Congrats to all the bad asses who were able to grab those big checks!

Cliff-notes version of how we did…

Overall, we sucked. We couldn’t get the short track close to where we were most of the year. It took us taking a few steps back and thinking outside the box a little to finally put a pass down good enough to qualify 10th of 12 cars in the outlaw class.

This put us next to our pal Nick Cole-Mann first round of eliminations. We gave it our all but got out muscled from the word go. However, we wouldn’t have even been able to make the pass we did next to Nick if it wasn’t for Nick himself. He’s been beyond helpful to me and my guys, and helped cure the 4th gear gremlin we’ve been fighting for almost a year. Thank you buddy, we are forever grateful for you and everything you’ve done to help us.

Even though we didn’t get a win light, we didn’t go home empty handed. Our first round duck pass ended up being good enough to grab the 03/04 Cobra stick shift record from our good buddy Nate Roatenberry with a 7.645 @ 188.48 (don’t worry Nate, we’ll keep it warm for you). As proud as we are for that accomplishment, we want to be competitive when it matters. So, we have some work to do to become more consistent while getting quicker and faster at the same time.

The list of people and companies that are deserving of more than just a thank you for supporting us is overwhelming. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, because without your help and support, we could not do this, period.

Having a great time here at the Wisconsin stick race, even though we are currently not having near our best showing. One more qualifier around lunch time, then eliminations. Looking to move into the upper 16 where this car should be.

Long read, but a lot has been happening as of late with the car. I have a lot to be thankful for. Mainly for being lucky rather than good, and for the awesome people in my corner to help me pick the pieces up.

The log of the final pass at Sick Summer showed some lower than normal oil pressure. The pass sucked and it’s not how we wanted to end the week, but we made the call to pack it up. And I’m thankful we did, because we lost a #2 rod bearing. It looks like it had JUST happened, and any more run time would’ve created A LOT more damage.

Less than 48 hours after finding this, Jordan Martin had a new set of main and rod bearings in the mail, and my pal Fonzie Novelo turned and burned a crank polish for me. Just need to check the concentricity of the rod before throwing it all back together, but everything looks ready to resend! Thank you guys so much for the quick support and always having my back!

Next up… Transmission…

I’m incredibly thankful for the time and effort my friend Don Walsh, Jr. has put into to troubleshooting this. Additionally, I’m extremely thankful for everyone who’s reached out to lend a hand (Jeremy Howell and Jon Miller, I see you bros). However, when the man Nick Cole-Mann says jump, you say how high. The level of appreciation I have for Nick, from what he’s done for stick racing to welcoming me to his shop after hours to help, is huge. Thank you a million times over bro…

We’re going to try a few things and report back. Special thanks also goes out to the Buntley bros for giving us some awesome insight! At this point, there’s not much else we can do, but when a Native Nightmare sticker goes on the transmission, it’s gotta work 😂

Life is happening over the next few weeks, so we won’t be able to test our work out until then. But hopefully a successful test session is in our future and we can go into the Wisconsin race with some confidence! Huge thanks to everyone involved near and far, can’t do any of this without you!
