Long read, but a lot has been happening as of late with the car. I have a lot to be thankful for. Mainly for being lucky rather than good, and for the awesome people in my corner to help me pick the pieces up.

The log of the final pass at Sick Summer showed some lower than normal oil pressure. The pass sucked and it’s not how we wanted to end the week, but we made the call to pack it up. And I’m thankful we did, because we lost a #2 rod bearing. It looks like it had JUST happened, and any more run time would’ve created A LOT more damage.

Less than 48 hours after finding this, Jordan Martin had a new set of main and rod bearings in the mail, and my pal Fonzie Novelo turned and burned a crank polish for me. Just need to check the concentricity of the rod before throwing it all back together, but everything looks ready to resend! Thank you guys so much for the quick support and always having my back!

Next up… Transmission…

I’m incredibly thankful for the time and effort my friend Don Walsh, Jr. has put into to troubleshooting this. Additionally, I’m extremely thankful for everyone who’s reached out to lend a hand (Jeremy Howell and Jon Miller, I see you bros). However, when the man Nick Cole-Mann says jump, you say how high. The level of appreciation I have for Nick, from what he’s done for stick racing to welcoming me to his shop after hours to help, is huge. Thank you a million times over bro…

We’re going to try a few things and report back. Special thanks also goes out to the Buntley bros for giving us some awesome insight! At this point, there’s not much else we can do, but when a Native Nightmare sticker goes on the transmission, it’s gotta work 😂

Life is happening over the next few weeks, so we won’t be able to test our work out until then. But hopefully a successful test session is in our future and we can go into the Wisconsin race with some confidence! Huge thanks to everyone involved near and far, can’t do any of this without you!

Sick The Magazine Sick Summer 2026 day 4 from GLD is in the books! Definitely one of my favorite tracks to visit. Stands were packed, track was on point, and anytime you can get a visit from the man, Nick Cole-Mann, in the flesh, that makes the trip worth it in itself!

Check points hit, a few trailer burnies, followed by beers at the hotel… Today was a good day! Back to Byron tomorrow for day 5 to finish this puppy off!

Day 2 of Sick The Magazine Sick Summer 2026 complete, checkpoints hit, and finally settling into the hotel. First two hits didn’t go as planned but we regrouped and somehow pulled this off on pass 3… Last time we were at Cordova in 2024 it took us 7 hits to get something to turn in so we’re on the up and up I guess 🤣

Tomorrow’s weather is looking rough (potential rain out). So we may be seeing everyone out at GLD on Thursday.

Day 1 complete with both checkpoints hit for Sick The Magazine Sick Summer 2026! Yes, we will be 1/8 mile racing this car the rest of the week as 4th gear won’t cooperate. We came into this week with a goal of a 7.7X average (or better), but looks like we’ll have to save that for next year.

We got the laptop out. Maybe we can figure out a way to coast this thing to a 7 still? 🧐

Feels great to be back out here at Sick Summer with Adam Miner and the rest of the Ohio boys after missing out last year. Day 0 tech and test went pretty well for us and we’re prepared to kick the week off tomorrow at Byron Dragway!

We’ll try to update daily as the week progresses! Wish us luck!

Man, if we could’ve only ran it out the back…
🤦‍♂️

Been scouring data non-stop since last week. We have some refining to do, but we have a lot left in the tank for which we plan to tap into progressively as the year moves forward. Don’t want to blow our wads at the beginning of the season 😉

Proud of every single individual who’s had a hand in this thing, big or small. For a little fish in a big pond, we’re just happy to be swimming in it 🐠

Mental health days at US 131 Motorsports Park hit differently now. It’s been two years since this car has been back here and what a day to get our feet back wet at our favorite track!

Happy to finally report we had a bunch of 1/8 mile bests and now have a consistent 4-second drag and drive car! We still have some work to do on the 60’ and a few other odds and ends before we take it out the back. But man, this is something we’ve known we’ve had for awhile now and finally have the paper to show it. Couldn’t be more proud of everyone involved!

Huge thanks to Adam Miner and Bryan Reid for being my guys. Also, huge thanks to Nick Cole-Mann for the advice from a far on power/clutch approach. We learned a metric F ton and we have high hopes for pushing these times deeper as the year progresses.
