Summer in North Carolina doesn't hold back... and neither do we.

When the temperatures climb, cocktail hour can simply move from the patio to the Lancaster Room—a beautifully styled, air-conditioned space designed to keep your guests comfortable while the celebrations continue.

Today is my birthday.

And whilst I love the idea of slowing things down… I should probably clarify that I don’t mean me.

I’m still the person who thinks working outside for hours, riding horses, walking three dogs, and generally keeping myself busy sounds like a good time. Sitting still has never really been my speciality.

But I do believe we should slow down the moments that matter.

Which is exactly why I’m such a believer in three-day wedding weekends. Not because we need more time for the sake of it, but because the best memories are often found in the moments between the planned ones.

The conversations, the laughter, the unexpected moments, and the time spent simply being together.

That’s what inspired my latest blog about why a wedding weekend can be so much more than just a wedding day.

Now I’m off to celebrate another year of doing what I love. 🎉

One of the simplest things you can do for your guests on a hot North Carolina summer wedding day?

Place a bucket filled with ice-cold bottled water at the entrance to your ceremony.

It takes very little effort, but after walking from the parking area and waiting for the ceremony to begin, that first cold bottle of water feels like pure luxury. It's one of those thoughtful touches your guests will genuinely appreciate, and it's a lovely way to let them know you've been thinking about their comfort from the moment they arrive.

Sometimes it's the smallest details that make people feel the most cared for.

Emily and Juan Jose's wedding was exactly that.

Their guests filled the dance floor all night, every detail felt intentional, and there was so much laughter from beginning to end. And then there was Annie... who made an appearance and made Emily's day.

Some weekends simply leave you smiling long after everyone has gone home.

Congratulations, Emily and Juan Jose. Thank you for letting us be a small part of such a wonderful celebration.

If you’ve tried to visit our website today, you probably noticed it looks completely bizarre. To be entirely transparent with you all: our website was hacked, and it’s currently displaying a bunch of random spam.

It is incredibly frustrating to deal with, especially with the 4th of July weekend right around the corner and so many exciting engagements happening. My web designer is on the case, but since it's the weekend, it will take a little bit of time to get it wiped clean and fully restored from our backups.

I wanted to reassure you that this is purely a surface-level website issue, but I absolutely do not want it to get in the way of connecting with you!
