Alyssa will be in Gilman for the Sesquicentennial festival and I will be cheering Jacoby and his Ankeny Arsenal on at state baseball this weekend.

So the shop unfortunately will be closed.

A lot of you watch my kids on the tv’s in the shop when I have their games on and you help make it really fun. They have no idea how many fans they have, but this is one tournament I can’t miss!

We’d love to see you in Gilman!

Heck of a season ladies! Really good group of girls! Our two senior ladies will go on to do amazing things!

Second-ranked Grand View Christian put up a bunch of crooked numbers and knocked out No. 14 West Marshall 12-4 in five innings in Monday’s Class 2A Region 1 regional final at Hoover High School.

The Thunder (27-3) advanced to next week’s state softball tournament for the first time in school history, hanging an 8-spot on the Trojans (23-11) in the fourth inning to break open a close game. Grand View Christian led 4-3 before striking for eight runs on eight hits, and West Marshall’s rebuttal wasn’t enough to prolong their third-straight regional final loss.

The Trojans were toppled 7-2 at West Liberty last summer and 3-1 at Sumner-Fredericksburg two seasons ago — one win shy of their first state tournament berth since 2017.

🚨 We had another blown stop sign 🛑 accident at our intersection!

We are now looking for help.

Who do we have to get ahold of? Who do we need to talk to? More awareness needs to be brought to the danger of this intersection. If anyone has contacts for anyone that could be of help , Alyssa and I would love to talk to them.

We are willing to raise the money. We have a big enough following to get it done. Obviously we know we have to get the city involved.

The first thing we’re doing is getting cameras installed facing the intersection and we’ll just create a page posting all the cars that drive through the stop signs. Maybe it will help a little from sheer embarrassment 🤷🏼‍♂️.

Our vet that was hit and drug down the street never fully recovered from the accident.

What we’d like to accomplish is some kind of signage like shared in the photos below.

It’s getting old and we’re tired of the excuse of “the sun was too bright.”

Picture 1 says road closed 🦺 , that means the roads closed.

Picture 2 also means the roads closed 🚫.

Picture 3 is a cross walk 🇺🇸 , that’s where people including our veterans in whee chairs cross the street.

Picture 4 is the 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ 5K full of kids which is why the street is closed right now.

I just watched a lady in a black car so focused on going around the blockade that she didn’t even see our veteran literally in the cross walk.
