From Henry County Water Authority:

Customers outside the boil water advisory area may notice discolored water as we make adjustments to the distribution system to restore normal operations.

While this discoloration can be concerning, the water is safe and is an expected part of the recovery process.

If you are outside the advisory area and experiencing discolored water, turn on all cold water taps at the same time and run them for no more than 15 minutes (do not use hot water) to flush your lines.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the Customer Service team at 770-957-6659 or [email protected]. Due to the high volume of calls, wait times may be longer than usual.

⚠️BOIL WATER ADVISORY NOTICE - Southeast Henry Customers⚠️

From Henry County Water Authority:

Due to operational issues at the HCWA Tussahaw Water Treatment Facility, system pressures may have dropped to levels below the minimum standard. This advisory is being issued out of an abundance of caution – there is the potential a health hazard may exist due to microbial contamination without the required positive line pressures.

Please visit https://www.hcwa.com/news_detail_T10_R180.php to see the full advisory and a map of impacted areas.

Until further notice (at least 24 hours as required by EPD), customers in the impacted areas are advised to bring all water intended for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, or preparing infant formula to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute before use. Bottled water may also be used as an alternative. Water used for bathing, showering, laundry, and other non-consumptive purposes may continue to be used normally.

We are working diligently to resolve the issue and will notify you as soon as the advisory is lifted. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

⚠️Jonesboro Road Emergency Lane Closure⚠️

Notice from Henry County Government:

The southernmost eastbound travel lane on Jonesboro Road between Mt. Carmel Road and Willow Lane is closed effective immediately July 2, 2026, and must remain closed for approximately six days for emergency utility repairs. This closure affects the right-hand lane for motorists traveling from I-75 toward the McDonough Square.

This lane closure has been implemented in the interest of public safety due to an unforeseen subsurface utility issue discovered beneath the roadway. Although work crews may not be visibly present at all times, the lane closure must remain in place until the roadway can be properly evaluated, repaired, and restored to safe operating conditions.

The closure is anticipated to remain in effect for approximately six (6) days, subject to weather and construction conditions.
