I really wasn’t a fan of the Triumph front end for decades. It looked OK from the front, but the profile of that bulbous protruding dual headlight assembly was awful. They’ve kept slimming it down and making it smaller and more aerodynamic which has improved it drastically. It’s still not my favorite front end profile for a naked bike, but it’s far better than it used to be. Funny thing is, now I love the nostalgic look of the dual round headlights from the 90s 🤷🏻‍♂️

TBT from a morning shoot on Hwy9 two years ago. I like this spot because it gives me ample spotting time to set up and it’s at the apex of two snaking sections. Some people think that you have to be speeding and leaning hard to make a good photo, but I disagree. I think the cruisers and vintage riders look just as good, and the joy in the helmet is equally zen 🧘🏽‍♀️

My Bike Monday

PROS
The more I ride this bike, the more I like it. The balance of it, the power, and the ease of riding it daily. It really is a great all around bike. I love the sound from the dual Arrow exhaust. It gets decent mpg and the stock gearing seems perfect for@my uses so far.

CONS
The ride is a bit harsh. I adjusted the suspension for a friendlier street ride, but it’s still a bit abrupt. Going to have Motorcycle suspension tuning work his magic asap. The seat leaves a lot to be desired comfort wise. It’s ok for about an hour, but I need a break after that. I’ll probably look into a comfort option eventually. The ride modes are far too “nanny” for me. Coming from a SuperDuke with the track pack and fully customizable settings, the Triumph is far more restrictive and forces me to turn on my custom “Rider mode” every time I get on it. It’s annoying. Maybe there’s a workaround for that?

Overall, I like it. It’s really smooth with its linear power delivery and the quick shifter is butter. I have a slight front brake chatter, but I think it’s the pads. I’ll buff the discs and put on new pads and hopefully that’ll fix it. I look forward to getting this on track, but likely not until the Spring. Until then, I’ll just keep putting miles down 🤙🏼

On August 3, 2023, Crown Moto founder, Andy Freeman went down on a road he could draw with his eyes closed. 13 broken ribs. Internal bleeding. Two surgeries. Stanford ICU.
He was wearing full gear. It saved his life.
