First, I want to take a moment to thank everyone for the phone calls, text messages, thoughtful and meaningful posts, prayers, and shares. It truly means more to us than you could ever imagine. ❤️

This hasn’t been an easy road for any of us, and I wouldn’t wish cancer on anyone. Cancer is not a caring or forgiving disease. It doesn’t care about your plans, your family, your dreams, or how much time you thought you had left together. It makes decisions for you that nobody should ever have to face.

But one thing I’ve learned through all of this is that the timeline we think we have in life isn’t always the timeline we’re given. And sometimes, instead of waiting for that perfect moment, you have to create it yourself.

So I decided to do something special for Shara. ❤️🎄

I wanted to throw her a surprise Christmas party!

Why Christmas? Because we both love Christmas. The lights, the decorations, the excitement, the laughter, and most importantly, the giving. It’s always been something special to us.

Shara had mentioned wanting to give everyone Christmas presents. And I got to thinking about that. Sure, I could have waited and handed those gifts out someday, telling everyone, “Shara wanted you to have this before she passed.”

But then I thought to myself… Why? Why wait? Why not let HER experience the joy of giving those presents to the people she loves? Why not let HER see their smiles, hear their laughter, and be part of those memories?

That’s when the idea of a surprise Christmas party came to life.

I wanted to gather everyone together, take the stress and worries off her shoulders, and give her something meaningful. It didn’t need to be elaborate, expensive, or over the top. Sometimes the simplest things in life become the memories we treasure the most.

We got together, exchanged gifts, played that crazy dice game where you roll the dice, swap presents, and steal gifts from each other! 😂🎁 Great idea from a good friend, There was laughter, excitement, and just a little friendly chaos!

And for those moments, it wasn’t about cancer. It wasn’t about treatments, appointments, or what tomorrow might bring.

It was about Shara. It was about family. It was about love. It was about being together.

And that’s exactly what I wanted.

I know some people might think it’s too early for Christmas, but when you’re facing something like this, you realize pretty quickly that Christmas isn’t about a date on the calendar. It’s about the people you share it with.

We’re at a point in this journey where Shara is on hospice care. And while hospice does help keep her comfortable and provides support, it also means we’re facing a reality that I wish with everything in me we could change.

I can’t change her diagnosis. I can’t turn back time. And as much as I wish I could, I can’t promise her another Christmas.

But I can give her this one. ❤️

I can make sure she gets to experience the joy of giving. I can surround her with people who love her. I can make her smile, laugh, and feel just how much she means to all of us.

And someday, when we look back, I don’t want us to only remember the pain, the sickness, or the difficult days.

I want us to remember the laughter. The Christmas lights. The presents. The smiles. The love. And the memories we made together.

Because at the end of the day, material things come and go, but those moments are something nobody can ever take away from us.

So again, thank you to everyone who continues to reach out, pray, share our story, and support our family. We appreciate every single one of you more than words can express.

We will continue praying, loving, laughing, and making every memory we possibly can with whatever time we’re blessed to have.

Don’t wait for a holiday, a birthday, or a special occasion to show someone how much you love them. Make the occasion. Create the memory. Give the hug. Take the picture. Say the words.

Because tomorrow is never promised, and sometimes the most meaningful gift you can give someone is simply being there while they’re still here to enjoy it.

💙 AN UPDATE ON SHARA — OUR JOURNEY, OUR LOVE, AND OUR FIGHT 💙

I wanted to take a moment to update everyone on Shara and everything she’s been going through. It’s been a long, emotional, and exhausting journey, and unfortunately, we’ve continued to face one challenge after another.

As many of you know, Shara has been battling Stage 4 Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma, a very rare and aggressive form of colon cancer.

Throughout this journey, she’s endured more than most people could ever imagine. From chemotherapy and radiation treatments to a major 7½-hour surgery, hospital stays, and dealing with constant pain and complications. She’s fought through so much, and somehow, she’s continued to push forward.

Recently, we’ve been dealing with even more complications.

💙 Hospice Care: Shara is now on hospice care. This is one of the hardest things to accept, but right now, our priority is making sure she is comfortable, that her pain is managed, and that she’s surrounded by nothing but love.

Hospice doesn’t mean we stop loving, caring, or being there for her. It means we’re focusing on her comfort, her peace, and her quality of life. We want every day she has to be filled with as much love, happiness, and comfort as possible.

What people don’t always see is what happens behind closed doors.

They don’t see the sleepless nights, the pain, the medications, the countless appointments, the hospital visits, or the emotional toll this takes on a family. They don’t see what it’s like watching someone you love go through so much while wishing you could take every bit of their pain away.

We’ve been together since 2004. We’ve built a beautiful life, a family, businesses, memories, and a future that we always dreamed about sharing together.

And when cancer enters your life, especially a rare cancer that is not curable at this stage, your entire perspective on life changes.

The things that once seemed so important suddenly don’t matter nearly as much. What matters is time. Time together, time with our children, making memories, hearing her laugh, seeing her smile, holding onto every moment we have.

With everything happening, the medical expenses and financial responsibilities continue to add up. We’re also facing the heartbreaking reality of preparing for funeral expenses, something no husband ever wants to think about for his wife.

We’re doing everything we can to make sure Shara continues to receive the comfort, care, and dignity she deserves while also preparing for whatever lies ahead.

What people need to understand is that when you love someone the way I love Shara, you’re never truly prepared for something like this.

You can try to prepare yourself mentally, emotionally, and financially, but nothing prepares you for watching the person you’ve built your entire life with go through something you cannot fix.

When we said “till death do us part,” we never imagined having to face something like this at this stage of our lives.

We’ve worked hard, built something beautiful together, and created memories that money could never buy. And now, more than anything, I just wish I could give her more time.

No matter what happens, I will continue to be by her side, holding her hand, loving her, and making sure she knows how much she means to me and our family.

To everyone who has called, texted, prayed, donated, shared our story, or simply checked on us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
