It's hard to imagine something sexier that a drop top '69 RS Camaro and this one for sure pushes all the buttons. Dave Wruble of Wruble Automotive noodles the details and his version of a LS swap is that clean factory look...mission accomplished! Dave also swapped in a 5-speed and juice clutch to enhance the driving experience. The Blue Print crate engine came with a Holley Terminator X and was supposed to have a decent calibration but the car barely ran. Starr Performance Tuning and Consulting, LLC updated the calibration, rescaled the tables and on the road we went. A complete drivability tune included clutch release optimization, drive-by-wire feel and of course some hard hits to make sure she was just right. And in this case if you tuned to stoich, you would be leaving a TON on the table.

Dave knows a great EFI tune only enhances his work and ensures a happy customer. Dave is one of my great installers who relies on us to make his work the best it can be. Thank you as always Dave and I am looking forward to our next project!

Whoa, double trouble! MAD Customs in Boyertown PA had two IR systems that needed attention. First, after being installed by the MAD Customs craftsman, this beautiful stick shift Mustang upped the game with a Jim Inglese 8-stack. A complete drivability and WOT tune was performed after rescaling the Holley Terminator X calibration (which is SO important to correctly tune an IR system), timing sync and our specialty, dialing in the butterflies. The Stang drove like a late model car and had plenty of ponies on tap when needed.

But it was the all aluminum Indy style roadster with the mechanically injected Hilborn on top of a Buick Nailhead that really grabbed my attention. This thing had bad ass dripping from every rivet! After an inspection of the mechanical system installation, a butterfly and linkage synchronization was performed. Once started and warmed up, the barrel valve setting was finalized. Now the roadster is closer to it's limited street use goal and no longer pukes fuel out of the pipes after a throttle hit.

Double trouble turned into double MY pleasure as I got to work on two very serious cars with one of the top customizing shops in the country. Many thanks to MAD Customs, I am completely honored!

I love stack injection and when it's installed in one of my favorite cars, a '66 nova, it really doesn't get any better. After the craftsman at Herter Brothers Speed Shop expertly installed the Inglese 8-Stack system, Starr Performance Tuning was tasked with the set-up and tuning. This entails custom scaling of the calibration, timing synchronization along with butterfly/linkage synchronization. Finally a comprehensive drivability tune is performed to showcase the awesomeness that comes from a properly tuned IR manifold. This black Chevy II is now ready to steal the show whether the hood is up or down!

Dan’s self built ‘71 GMC 1500 hits the ground running with a supercharged SBC with a Holley Sniper. Poor performance, stalling along with popping out of the supercharger at throttle input plagued his build even after being worked on by two previous EFI tuners. Dan had lost all confidence in his ride.

Starr Performance Tuning and Consulting, LLC was recommended as the last attempt before removal of the EFI system. Careful inspection along with calibration updates were performed before a vigorous road test for finally tuning. Dan’s GMC now runs as it should with plenty of power and no more stalling or popping allowing him the confidence to take his awesome ride anywhere he likes.

At Starr Performance Tuning we are lucky enough to work with some of the finest innovators in the industry such as Zach Smith of ZSR Engines. Zach specializes in Ford power and built this 429cid SBF monster for Drag-N-Drive veterans Scott and Jack Miller. Starr Performance supplied the Fuel Injector Clinic 120lb/hr injectors and was tasked with wiring, base calibration and dialing in the Holley EFI. Jr Ward threw the dyno lever at Sonny's World Class Racing Engines as we zeroed in on the ideal air/fuel, timing and injector end angles for the Q16 fuel. 10 pulls later we were rewarded with 1116hp @9300 rpm. A killer build that gives all new meaning to Miller time!

Rich's '67 Fastback Mustang is over the top with a 482cid FE Ford engine force fed with a Pro Charger F3 blower. Starr Performance Tuning supplied the complete Holley Dominator EFI management system, Fuel Injector Clinic 160lb/hr injectors and Weldon Racing Fuel system. Rich also took advantage of our Base Calibration and comprehensive Wire-to-Wire technical service. Starr Performance Tuning was on-site for this initial fire-up and was able to capture Rich's first turn of the key. The next leg will be to dial in some drivabilty before hitting the Injection Connection chassis dyno.

As part of a complete rewire of our house car, my ‘56 Chevy, I needed to make mounts to hang the G-meter and Racepak switch panel. I design and print in house, and each project starts with modeling in Solid Works, then off to the Bambu Slicer before being printed on a Bambu A1. Threaded holes are added as is a rubber liner to keep the mount from spinning and scratching. The final install is strong and professional. This process is a very satisfying form of creation and works great even in a street/racing environment.

Stan Slachta’s home built ‘81 Camaro is filled full of high end go fast parts including a Brodix aluminum block at 400 inches to handle the boost from the intercooled Procharger. Stan had Starr Performance Tuning and Consulting, LLC on location to get the car running correctly after intial start. In this case, a complete rescale of the fuel, spark and target air fuel tables was performed. Once the engine was running the timing was synchronized and hot start dialed in on the 8-injector Terminator X 4150 Stealth. Stan’s car showcases a top quality build with no runs, drips or errors.
