Another resurrection nearly complete. Fired up the 2006 R1 for the first time last night, sounds like a new bike. It should....only has 4300 miles!

Few more things to do including installation of an RMSTATOR flywheel and calibration of the Speedo DRD module, then fairings. Should be on the market next week!

Next up, a 2002 YZ125. Not just another build, this one will be special.

A close family friend down in Texas was told if he got A's and B's this last semester, he gets a bigger bike. Found his bike here in the Springs.

Needs a bit of work to be a solid rider....but it's going to get the MB Cycles treatment!

Nothing like finishing up a set of R1 carbs on the kitchen counter while my wife makes dinner!

Told her I'm a lucky guy that she doesn't get mad about me building carbs in the kitchen. She replies "well, I wash gun parts in the dishwasher, so....."

For a period of time in 2014, was the custodian of a 1947 Vincent Series B Rapide land speed racer.

Racer and motorcycle shop owner Sonny Angel went 144.69mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats aboard this bike in 1955, and 144.95 in 1981.

Had the machine for a few years until it passed to a new owner in 2016.

Who remembers the 1998 EMA R1?

The Yamaha YZF-R1 hit the market in 1998. Got my first R1 in 1999 from Bert's Motorcycle Mall in Azusa, California. Almost immediately started modifying my bike with a Brembo 320mm disc/caliper upgrade kit and Devil shotgun exhaust.

During my search for parts, stumbled on a company named EMA and this highly modified 1998 R1. Harris Performance swingarm, AP brakes, Akrapovic exhaust. Immediately fell in love!

Unfortunately, EMA shut down years ago. The 1998 R1 traded hands a few times, eventually lost track of it. Hoping the bike is still out there, well cared for.

That face.....😈πŸ”₯

The 2006 R1 is nearly complete! Dropped the tank off at Diamond Hail and Dent in Colorado Springs to have a small dent removed, fitted the Zero Gravity Racing windscreen, and prepped the bodywork for installation.

Won't be zero mile, but will be very close.

First start next week, shakedown ride, then up for sale.

Currently overseas in Germany, visited the Deutsches Zweirad and NSU Motorcycle Museum in Neckarsulm, Germany. Incredible collection of rare machines, took plenty of detail shots. Home Saturday

Should have the 2006 R1 running on Sunday and OEM graphics and seat cover installed on the 1995 RM250 (yep, still available).
