Captain Noreen is originally from Seattle, Washington. She operated what’s known as a Thunderjet, “river jet sled” in the various river systems of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She is an avid angler, frequently seeking after salmon and steelhead for over 30 years. In 2009, Noreen graduated from Flagship Maritime training center in Tacoma, Washington, with a USCG Master 100 inland certificate.
At this same time she was employed with NRC Environmental Services in the marine division operating 24’ to 50’ (FRV) fast response vessels throughout Western Washington. Noreen earned the distinguished Deepwater Horizon- One Gulf Response medal with NRC after helping mitigate for British Petroleum in Louisiana after the unfortunate explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. In 2012, Noreen moved to Jacksonville, Florida and opened her own fishing business called iFishjax. Specializing in teaching children and adults how to fish. After a brief visit to Saint Petersburg she fell in love, and moved south to the charming town of Gulfport, Florida. In 2018 she graduated from Sea School in St Pete and now holds a USCG Master 100 near shore license. Before the pandemic, Captain Noreen worked at Private Water Taxi/Yacht Starship in Tampa operating various lengths of pontoon boats and provided narrated tours of the history and flora/fauna of the Tampa Bay area. Captain Noreen currently runs Your Choice Charter onboard a Bayliner 175 bowrider and provides her Captain services locally upon request. Captain Noreen is certified with the American Red Cross in First Aid/AED for children and adults, holds a (TWIC) transportation workers identification credential and has a Captains Charter boat license.
