TSK TSK, OTHER SHOP…

There’s no way in hell that undersized inside patch was gonna seal the gash. Our boys were cracking up when I retrieved this from the inside of the tube.

PROUD TRAINER MOMENT! Both gentlemen immediately knew what would’ve needed to happen in order to achieve a proper repair when presented with the gash we saw in the previous video.

OUR FIRST STEPS…

with any repair involve finding, and patching, any leaks. In many instances, the origin of the leak is visible to us.

In other cases, we have to do some digging in order to track down the origin.

These patches were hiding a gash that requires a PROPER inside patch. Stay tuned to see what we found!

ZODIAC FINAL REVIEW…

Dan and Susan are proactive with regard to maintenance. They brought us the vessel before minor issues became major ones. Quick turnaround, nice results!

VIDEO ONE OF WING INITIAL INSPECTION…

The leaking valves have caused the chambers to deflate, which allowed the rubrail to pull away from the tubes in some areas. When water sneaks into those gaps, it attacks the surrounding adhesive, which then promotes more detachment. Vicious cycle!

CARIBE INITIAL INSPECTION…

It’ll be a few more months before I’ll be able to enunciate clearly; please bear with me.

I wish we’d caught this one before it had been DIYed, but it is what it is; we’re still gonna be able to claim victory when all is said and done.

ACHILLES INITIAL INSPECTION FOR ORANGE COUNTY FIRE RESCUE…

Great vessel, but we have failed DIY in a number of areas. The detachment shown in this video is minor, but we have some zones that are missing fabric entirely.

FINAL REVIEW FOR ORANGE COUNTY FIRE RESCUE…

The vessel cooperated beautifully, probably due to the absence of DIY. I’m kidding; this was a straightforward job.

We had several hands on deck for this one, and it turned out to be an enjoyable collaboration.

My contact in the Fleet Management department is a jovial chap, and I had fun coordinating the logistics with him. Communication was a breeze!
