Da Funk U Want? An affordable sports car? The OEMs have lost the plot. $700k Audi's? $700k Italian EVs? $4 million track cars with no racing pedigree? $4m V6 powered silent hyper cars? 4000lbs British sports cars? 3000hp Chinese hypercars? Whyyyyyyy?

Welcome to the start of the Project "Grin" Study.

We have been doing polls, clinics and asking lots of questions. Deep research has given us some great insight. The community is who will define it.

OEMs have left this space with good reasons, low margins, fickle clients who cross shop used cars, and the evolution of the car into a soulless appliance has left a true drivers cars perceived as unrefined, poorly designed and under developed.

So the question is.... Are you actually buying a raw, minimalist driver's car for over 150k? The OEMs have said no you're not. Are they right? What if it's an EV? What if it's got no roof. Let's hear your thoughts.

Less is more, more or less.
Two different approaches, two maniac machines...
HF-11 favors street ability and ergonomics. The wider cabin means more space inside, no off center rotation of the driver axis, no offset in the pedal box and steering wheel. Much larger doors, for easier ingress. To save weight we cut out any hybrid system, no hydraulic suspension and no moveable aero, 6 less cylinders and much lighter gearbox. More power and more down force requires bigger and heavier structures, from the chassis, all the way to suspension arms, bearings, hubs etc.

It's all a compromise, never trust any company that says they don't compromise.

Miss testing things. Soon we will be at it again.

Half11 was chasing 1967, an era where innovation was defined. Half11 was built like the cars we admired, by artisans in sheds. This history is what sets the upcoming HF-11 apart from all the other nostalgic thieves. One we will be testing soon. Just like our heroes would have.

Production Hell. It's beautiful, it's madness, it's incredibly difficult, with thousands of seemingly inconsequential decisions crafting an engineering sculpture.

This is the core of our Maniac machines and it needs to be perfect. It's fun to look at other tubs. Ones that are rushed, ones that have a thousand engineers behind them, the contrast is startling. Good things take time. Never more true than with a carbon fiber monocoque.

These are renders, but not long now... Just a few more decisions, delays, joys and tears.

Naked Half11. First time in the 6 years.

A hand formed aluminium body, crafted by total newbies. It's also seen 12000 miles of hard use. Every dent has a story, every wrinkle a lesson. A visual history book for the brand as it grows and evolves. It was a bit emotional removing the iconic livery, but what's next?

HF-11 returns to negroni orange. A few small revisions have been made to the front splitter, improving performance and function, and an integrated tow hook.
