‼️ Public Notice: Road Closures ‼️
Attention McCreary County Residents and Visitors:
This is a formal notice regarding temporary road closures in downtown Whitley City for Motors on Main Street, Main Street Market, and the Free Community Worship Concert.
Friday, June 5, 2026 | 4:30 PM – 10:30 PM
Highway 1651 traveling south through Whitley City will be closed beginning just before the McCreary County Courthouse at the Court Street/Kizzie Chitwood Road intersection and continuing to just past Maple Street (before the EMS Building). **Access to UCB will still be available during regular business hours on Friday**
Saturday, June 6, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Highway 1651 traveling south through Whitley City will be closed beginning just before the McCreary County Courthouse at the Court Street/Kizzie Chitwood Road intersection and continuing to just past Maple Street (before the EMS Building).
Saturday, June 6, 2026 | 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
KY 1651 will be temporarily closed between the intersections of Court Street/Kizzie Chitwood Road and Geary Avenue/Court Street in downtown Whitley City adjacent to the McCreary County Courthouse.
There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to these closures other than emergency services. These are official road closures that have been approved and will be strictly enforced.
All vehicles parked within the closure areas during the specified times must be relocated prior to the road closure. Any vehicles remaining within the closure zone after the closure begins may be subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
Detours will be in place, and motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow additional travel time. Failure to comply with road closure or detour instructions may result in penalties.
