Avants partnered with to present Driven by Design, a curated morning experience exploring the progression of Porsche’s most focused driver’s cars.
Through storytelling and short educational talks, renowned Porsche experts Nathan Merz and Chris Powell took us through the evolution of Porsche GT cars—what’s changed over the years, what’s remained true to the formula, and the philosophy that continues to define the GT badge.

A V12 wagon built for royalty… literally. 🖤

This Mercedes-Benz W140 S73 AMG is one of the rarest AMG creations ever produced — an ultra-exclusive custom wagon commissioned during the 1990s for the Sultan of Brunei, back when AMG still operated like a secret performance laboratory for the world’s elite.

Under the hood sits a monstrous hand-built 7.3-liter V12, an engine closely related to the legendary powerplant later used in the Pagani Zonda. Smooth, brutal, and effortlessly powerful, this wasn’t just a luxury car… it was a supercar disguised as a family wagon.

Based on the iconic W140 S-Class, the car was transformed into a one-of-a-kind long-roof estate combining limousine comfort with insane V12 performance. The result feels almost unreal even today.

And somehow the story gets even crazier.

This exact wagon was reportedly used to transport Michael Jackson during his visit to Brunei for a live performance, giving the car a place not only in automotive history — but also in pop culture history.
