A motorcycle’s front brake provides roughly 70–90% of your stopping power, depending on the bike and conditions.

Because of that, there are a lot of interesting myths around it:

🏍️ “Using the front brake will make you crash.”
🏍️ “Never touch the front brake on gravel or dirt.”
🏍️ “It’s too dangerous in an emergency stop.”

But the reality is the front brake is one of the most important tools you have as a rider.

Like Spiderman's Uncle Ben said: with great power comes great responsibility.

Good braking isn’t about grabbing a handful of front brake in a panic and hoping for the best. It’s about practicing smooth, progressive braking and learning how your front and rear brakes work together.

Come learn and practice these skills at MassMotorcycleSchool.com

Exercise 12: “Multiple Curves and Lane Changes”, using your own judgment, safety margins and gaps when you can go on your own. It’s simple. It’s fun and it’s something we use every single day out on the road. These beginners get to use their turn signals and change lanes for the first time and use their own judgment to when they may proceed. A very fun but important exercise.
