We concluded the end of an emotional roller coaster weekend at our home track (New Hampshire Motor Speedway) racing with the (Northeast GT (NEGT) series). We laid to rest and celebrated our friend Peter Evans life at the speedway (some of us harder than others) Saturday evening to an epic sunset backdrop, on a hill filled with people Pete’s soul touched and a fitting Juno (Pete’s Goldendoodle) in attendance. To end the weekend the Master8ers Motorsports brought their A+ game to the 3 hour endurance race. Drivers William Collyer, Keygan Nacos and Nathan Loos were all on point dueling it out with the benchmark team of RST Performance Racing with Raymond Blethen, Stephen Blethen and Zack Kelly. Today was finally our day to take 1st place and our first head to head win against them. Both teams had tire issues during the race to overcome. The difference was RST also was fighting some mechanical gremlins (can’t help but think Pete had a hand in it). RST did their best to mimic the size of an earthmover getting around but all the tireless efforts building and preparation of the last two years finally paid off. The power delivered by the (Billy Built, I-Rotary apex seals, CLR Motorsports balanced internals, Mazda Motorsports, and Tuned by Shawn) engine made the difference. The win was bitter sweet because we didn’t have Pete’s infectious smile and laugh to go along with it. I can’t thank everyone enough for their support through this hard time. God bless you all.
