Removing the thermostat, keeps the engine and the transmission below normal operating temperature; it also keeps the computer in just one loop, it increases fuel consumption, that is because; 1 the pistons do not expand enough to seal the compression completely.
2. The computer constantly receives messages from the temperature sensors telling it that the engine is cold and so it should add more fuel to help the engine warm up fast.
3. The engine oil gets contaminated by the carbon that leaks through the rings.
4. The combustion Chambers fouling increases and the plugs die fast.
5. The engine wears fast due to the fact that the oil being contaminated by the carbon and therefore loses its lubricating properties.
The list is endless...
It's a small part but it counts a lot on the lifespan of the engine.
Warning, the thermostat has nothing to do with the climate, So, whether you are driving in Greenland or in the middle of the Sahara you need it. It has everything to do with well the engine works.
Now that takes us to the climate item: COOLANT!!!!
Now you drive your car in place that does not experience snow; you can opt to use coolant that does not have ANTIFREEZE, in countries where temperatures go to freezing and below antifreeze is a must. Antifreeze prevents the coolant from freezing.
Remember that water is the only substance in nature that expands when frozen!
Now let's learn what coolant components are: 1 coolant comes with detergents to clean the passages where it passes
2. It comes with lubricants that lubricate the water pump bearing and rubber seals.
3. It comes with corrosion inhibitors that prevents parts from corroding
4. It comes with antiforming agents that prevents it from bubbling up.
5. It comes with antiboil agents that prevents it from boiling even at temp above 120degrees
7. It comes with Antifreeze to prevent it from freezing even at temperatures below -
Pure water is good at conducting electricity and so it causes electrolysis damaging car parts especially those made of aluminum.
Coolant is a poor conductor of electricity.
Water has none of those!
