1996 Triumph Speed Triple next to a 2009 Speed Triple, 13 years development between the two. First produced in 1994, the Speed Triple was one of the first production street fighter style of motorcycles, basically a Triumph Daytona stripped of its front fairing and a single headlight mounted in its place. This has an 898cc triple motor and a six-speed gearbox, a 1996 model, the final year of manufacture. The outstanding success of this motorcycle lead Triumph to further develop this concept, changing the frame, the engine, actually pretty much everything, throughout following years. The 2009 bike has only the name and color in common with the 1996 model and the new 2025 is completely different again, this, along with the Bonneville is the real success story of Hinckley Triumph.

Unexpected find this last Sunday. IMOC had their monthly breakfast run to the Toeka Restaurant, on the Vryhuns road, Windmeul near Wellington. How I've been there a few times for coffee and the actual restaurant building has a fantastic eclectic collection of old stuff, from toys, records and wedding dresses to automobile and tractors. However, this time I wandered a bit farther, and in the garden a found this massive shed with as far as the eye could see tractors, other vehicles and train stuff, amazing. The breakfast buffet was also good. So, a great place to visit either on your bike with mates, or even the family, lots to do for younger, and older kids.
